You’re not the first one to get this confused.

Can you point me in a direction (reading)

Are these guys the ā€˜Haredi’ of Christianity?

I always thought the rough equivalent was the Amish/Mennonites. I went to tour an Amish town once… It actually seems like a really nice life.

Bet you’d get strong as an ox raising barns, riding horses and doing farmwork day in and day out. But what if you need medical attention urgently?

The town was Intercourse, Pennsylvania (seriously). I’m sure it attracts a lot of tourism due to the sexually provocative name.

If you cannot forgive, then GOD will not forgive you for your sins

That is one of the mains points of being a christian

Every recognized one where I live including the looney evangelical ones with faith healers and shit which are just out to maximize profits. I do not know whether they deviate from the norm or not because I don’t know what the norm is. Which is why I asked about Catholicism and whether multiple variations exist in the US. All I can say is that the heads of all these religions have to follow certain State guidelines. In the military, the crest on our berets are blessed by all the major religions before they’re handed out so people don’t freak out when they’re training in the jungle LMAO. Mass hallucination in the night when you’re tired as fuck is real IME.

I’ve even been to a synagogue once because a Jewish friend suddenly got a supply of lots of kosher wine for some reason and he wanted me to help him sell them since he doesn’t drink. I saw the dancing. Cool stuff lol.

We used to go to those aforementioned evangelical churches to pick up chicks. It works exactly like Steinbeck wrote in The Grapes of Wrath. Chicks there were more open to getting laid after being filled ā€œwith the spiritā€.

All I know about Martin Luther is from what was previously posted in this thread which gave me the impression that he’s probably history’s greatest troll. The dude managed to cut out the middle men from priests and the monarchy all the way up to the fucking POPE for granting of indulgences and got away with it LMFAO.

Of possible interest to you considering our discussion about capital and corporal punishment.

Wow… that’s really horrible…

I can see how that’d work, but it’s a terrible thing to do.

Wow… these guys are… really conservative…

I’m not against the death penalty, nor was I aware it was considered ā€˜unchristian’.

What else are you to do with individuals who are beyond redemption who have committed absolutely heinous crimes? Why waste a good dollar on housing a serial killer sentenced to 800 years in prison?

Another variation of religious foundations having been corrupted.

You haven’t seen church chicks. Smoke shows… Some of the hottest women on earth go to church.

I can’t comment regarding the quality of the women who attend church as I’ve never been. You’re taking advantage of an extremely sheltered, naive demographic that is extremely easy to manipulate.

It’s morally reprehensible.

I don’t go to church to chase tail. I am just not blind. And no they are not sheltered or naive. I am not sure why you would think that, they don’t live on a compound outside of the world. They are normal people.

@dt79 care to back me up here. Those who are kept sheltered within the tight knit confines of a specific community tend to be VERY sheltered and naive.

Are we talking about normal church? Or evangelical church?

I don’t know what you see in Australia, evangelicals are not sheltered here. There are some 30,000 denominations around the world, some are more strict, some are less so. None are the branch dividians and very few are westboro baptist. Most are normal people who go to church on Sunday and sin on Monday.
You seem to have a warped view. I have been to evangelical churches and have never been offended or ā€˜othered’. Actually, quite the opposite, people have always been super nice.
WLC runs a class at a Baptist church about an hour from me, I haven’t been in a while but still very normal people. And yes, some really hot chicks. But I go to talk to a genius.

My ā€˜warped’ views stem from what I saw when I lived in the USA. I won’t go into detail though, as doing so likely isn’t appropriate.

I am not intending to offend anyone here.

I didn’t say your views were warped. And I am sure you are not lying about the anecdotes you saw. It’s just that there are millions of them who are not crazy.

I didn’t say they were crazy

I was saying women who have been raised in a tight knit, relatively sheltered communities without much in the way of contact with the opposite sex or secular society are easy prey for shitty guys to pounce on.

Being sheltered doesn’t make you crazy. If you don’t leave the confines of that community throughout the entire duration of your life it tends to work fairly well

They are very conservative. This is another topic of conversation showing there is difference between modernist Post-Vatican II thought and Traditional Catholicism.
