Reintroducing Carbs

Hey All,

Been going very low carb for a while now and am going to reintroduce them in about 3 weeks. Currently the only carbs I have are in my Plazma and MAG-10. I’ll be finishing up an 8 week hard core cut (after months of low carbing) and am going to reintroduce some carbs as i’ll be switching gears to go back to muscle growth for a bit before another cut sometime in mid April (hitting the beach in May).

As I reintroduce carbs I’ll be staying clean and just bringing in some potatoes with my evening steak and some rice/beans with my daily chicken and throwing some in my PWO meal 1 hour after my MAG-10. I could just toss a whole wheat bagel in here or some oatmeal and fruit. I never really had an issue with wheat. Sound good?

Also, do people even do the PWO meal any more? I feel like it’s been semi abandoned…is there something I should know? I used it very successfully with egg whites and bagels a few years back when I came up from 180 to 210 lean but haven’t really heard about it much lately…

If you have success with past pwo meal options then why not just try it out again? I was doing CKD but grew tired of it. So I’m not back to about 150g of carbs a day from rice and a whole fruit after workout. I haven’t experienced bloating or whatever low-carbers go through. Granted, I probably holding more water than before, but as long as it’s not fat then that’s cool.

Why not just introduce about 50g-100g of carbs for two weeks, see how it goes. Adjust up another 50gs or so if you’re not putting on fat for another two weeks.

I personally always enjoyed Nate Miyaki’s articles here on diet and he’s ripped - albeit he’s on the smaller side. He advocates a “villager” style diet. Rice, meat, vegetables and low fat. The low fat part is hardest to me when you’re used to eating chicken thighs, bacon, a billion whole eggs, etc.
