Any helpful advice would surely be appreciated. Thanks for your time…SemprFi
THis is all you need. Diet is the biggest part of recomp.
MOST DEFINTELY…Have my macro numbers dialed in, just gotta make some adjustments & I’ll be g2g. Thanks for the stamp of approval bros, you take care & be safe…SemprFi
LOL where did you see that? You were told NOT to do that and stick with TRT/
Lol…My bad bros, didn’t notice your suggested advice on previous message. My diet is on point now, reason why I’ve lost around 20pds, but reason why I wanted to up the Test & add Primo, was to tighten up & recomp all the muscle mass I lost while I was slacking all those years. Was gonna go with Test & Var, but wanted slow & steady compounds, rather than something quick like Var.
Muscle memory alone will recover your “natural” muscle mass using a good diet with sufficient protein. But if you want the muscle mass that you acquired during your 10 years cycling AAS, you will need to use AAS.
IMO, I would get all of the “natural” muscle back naturally before I added AAS.
My signal to add AAS would be hitting a three month strength plateau.
Im curious… what was your peak weight without being overly sloppy?
Good question.
Recomp is really only a thing once a person has cut down to 8% body fat or less.
My peak weight when I was actually training & using gear was around 185-190lbs & I looked SOLID. Originally was gonna go with TestC 400mg/wk, Var 50mgd 12wks, would that have been a better combo? Just had BloodWork done again since Jan & results were impressive. Lipids were slightly over, but everything else was spot on, ESPECIALLY test
Testosterone Total
(1.13.25) - 446 (7.1.25) - 1292
Testosterone Free
(1.13.25) - 78 (7.1.25) - 277
That’s with only running TRT TestC 200mg/wk for last 3mths. Any other info you need from me, I’ll be more than happy to provide. Thanks again for your advice & concerns gents. Happy 4th…SemperFi
I don’t get it. You’re planning out a cycle but you’re already on gear?is this TRT? you’re numbers are already way high why would you add anything?
I’m a relative newby to AAS, but I am a competitive powerlifter.
I personally wouldn’t use a 3 month strength plateau as a cue that you’ve maximized natural ability. Especially in a caloric deficit. This would be using performance goals to inform body composition, and the two aren’t in the same lane from either an activity or diet standpoint.
If you’re going to use strength increase as a hypertrophy indicator and this happens, restructure your training first. There is a reason programs become increasingly complicated as you advance (periodization, conjugation, wave loading et cetera).
Banging out 3x12 or 4x8 on the same old schedule day in and day out isn’t going to work forever, and jumping straight to the juice when it doesn’t still leaves a lot on the table.
When I make recommendations on this forum I make a vast number of assumptions that I never had to make when I made recommendations to people I watched working out.
OP said he had 10 years of experience cycling AAS. I assumed that OP also was familiar with changing training strategies to overcome plateaus. If I watched him workout for a few months I could easily make much more detailed suggestions.
Morning bros…Yes I’ve been on TRT for the past 3mths @ TestC 200mg/wk (Split M/T) Tell ya the truth, I was expecting an increase in my test, but was’t expecting such high numbers on just TRT…lol Makes me almost double think my suggested cycle & just maybe raise my test dosage a bit & than maybe just add Var with it, what ya think?
Last year I dropped a weight class and increased strength on 350 test cyp for 16 weeks and 50mg var daily for 8, split in to two 25mg doses.
I didn’t measure body comp but the mirror matched the class drop and performance boost.
Anecdotally, I’d say yes it does work well as a combo, assuming everything else is tight.
NJord any sides with Var at 50mg? Sounds like a solid plan & look I know EVERYONE reacts differently to gear & dosages, what works for one, probably won’t work for the other, it’s all about trial & error. Honestly at my age I don’t wanna pound myself with gear & gain massive weight, I just wanna do simple dosages & not much gear, that’s why I had originally thought of Var. May I ask what were your results after cycle, stayed lean & tightened up? Were you in a calorie deficit?
Liver enzymes were high but normalized.
I was in a deficit until I felt comfortable at a weight I could water cut to my competition weight from and then maintained.
I ran the test through a full training block, var through the end of the strength phase, during peaking and the meet itself. I did keep muscle and remained as lean as I wanted to.
My training and diet didn’t really change much after so I didn’t lose anything. Just the “artificial” strength bump at peak cycle, and from an aesthetic standpoint some vascularity and the hardness DHT gives.
