Recommended Supplements

I started lifting seriously about a year ago, and during this time I’ve never used supplements. I’m just wondering what if any would you guys recommend. I feel as though I’m missing out on something by not using any.

What are your goals?

Most people would probably benefit from Flameout (assuming you’re not on blood thinners).

I’m trying to gain weight and basically just get stronger.

Fish Oil.

I use protein shakes just because they are so easy in the morning before school.

A good post-workout shake combined with proper post-workout nutrition would be good.

Ya I’m basically looking for a good post-workout shake, as of right now I’ve just been eating some rolled oats and a banana. So what would you recommend I get my hands on for a post workout shake.

Surge found in the store

Flameout
Surge
BCAA

Aside from fish oil you don’t need any supplements. Whole food will get you there faster and healthier. No need to feel you’re missing out just because you hear people unable to shut up about their supplements. Remember, the most help supplements can give you is 5% - TOPS! Save some time by avoiding talks of whether 35.7 minutes is the best time to take a post workout shake. Just have a glass of milk or two and grow big.

This is the foundation I’d start anybody on. Flameout for all it’s health benefits. Surge, BCAA to jumpstart your recovery process.

After that I’d wait until you’ve got your nutrition and lifting completely in line and tweak from there according to your goals/progress.

Fish Oil, Waxy Maize, Creatine, and BCAAs.

Then some Greens+, a good multi, and a fiber supplement.

Where did you get 5% from?

Supplements do more than that from the shear fact they make it less likely you’ll skip on nutrition because they make it easier and faster, not to mention cheaper.

This is my recommendation, too.

Surge can’t be beat for recovery. BCAA would be next in line for recovery and Flameout is awesome for overall health.

Why nutrition after supplements? I’d put nutrition before supplements any day.

On that note, I dont consider protein powder supplements but rather as food.

I’d say the Flameout, Surge, and BCAA suggestion is your best bet to start with as long as you’re getting an adequate protein intake already. If you’re not getting at least 1gprotein/1LB bodyweight, I’d say replace the BCAA with Metabolic Drive and have an easy way to get your daily protein requirements in.

I get around 1.5g protein/lb of bodyweight just from whole food, would you still recommend Metabolic Drive for some added protein?

for me a protein shake, good multi and zma is a good starting point. I

f you want to spend more fishoil and bcaa’s should be your next port of call after that

I don’t know, but now that I think of it, it’s probably too much.

If you can find something easier, faster and cheaper than milk, let me know.

Boom, done.

Just like sex with analog_kid.

Of course, that’s assuming diet & training are already in line?

Creatine, BCAAs, carb & protein peri-workout blends, omega 3 supplement, and casein blends are all good investments. Just get them from a good source.

For many of us milk isn’t the miracle food it’s made out to be. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
