Well, if you did listen, you might be irritated by Ira Glass’s ghey voice. Otherwise, some good slice-of-life stories on that show.
Comedy Podcasts are what I listen to. I have to drive a lot during the week and the following shows keep me company. Check Itunes for all of these.
Joe Rogan Experience: Lots of cool guests, especially commedians, he does interview some far out conspiracy folks on occasion though.
Mohr Stories: Jay Mohr is really good at interviewing his guests. Mostly commedians, but he also interviewed Charlie Sheen, Ray Boom Boom Mancini, and one of the priests from his Parrish.
The Crabfeast: Two commedians Ryan Sickler and Jay Larson, east coast guys that have funny stories and generally have a pretty good time.
Ari Shaffirs’ Skeptic Tank: Longtime commedian finally finding his own audience, but his podcast centers around topics from Holocaust survivors to Porn to Music to Agoraphobia
Greg Proops Smartest Man in the World: Greg is a consistently insightful and hilarious dude. His shows are all live, usually at a bar or comedy club, probably one of my favorites.
Bryan Callens’ Man Thoughts: Brian is a really funny dude, one of Joe Rogans’ best friends, and a helluva conversationalist and deep thinker. He’s interviewed fighters, commedians, and even one of his buddies that was dying of pancreatic cancer. His shows are hilarious to chilling depending on the subject matter.
Pete Holmes’ You made it weird: He’s an alternative comic, not the type of comedy I like, but he interviews all types of people and does a pretty good job. He’s a goofy dude, but incredibly genuine and fun.
There are a handful of others that I listen to sporadically (WTF with Marc Maron), but the above are what I consistently listen to every week.
Underground Wellness, if you want to really learn about nutrition and health it’s top-notch
Iron Radio is fantastic. Actually one of the co-hosts is Lonnie Lowery, who is on T Nation and writes articles from time to time. They have guests from professors and scientists to world renown powerlifters, bodybuilders, and the other strength sports. Highly recommend it. You can download all their past podcasts on Itunes.
If you have a hobby or interest, chances are there’s a podcast for it.

Speaking of Patrice… there’s a great interview with Louis CK on Fresh Air (the podcast I recommended earlier).
Louis talks warmly about his friend, Patrice, and at one point gets really emotional about losing him. It kind of choked me up as well, especially since someone like Louis CK (one of the funniest dudes on the planet) gets choked up.

There is a downloadable tribute to Patrice done by the Opie and Anthony show that is available for free download from audible.com. It comes in four parts, three of which are four hours long, and consists of hours and hours of Partrice’s greatest moments along with commentary by a LOT of very big comedians calling and sharing their stories of him. It is VERY good stuff and I would highly recommend it to the OP. It’s not a “podcast,” per se, but it acts in the same way.
Patrice was a genius on par with George Carlin and Richard Pryor, and this will come to be known as more and more people start to find how who he was and realize just what a GIANT the man was, in every sense of the word.

If you listen to the Jay Mohr podcast he interviewed Patrice about a week before his stroke. Pretty telling interview, that makes it all the more sad that Patrice left too soon.
Mohr was trying to get him to do more work, get himself out there more, and not be satisfied with his O&A crowds at the comedy club.
If you ever watched “The Office” Patrice was a regular for a couple seasons as a warehouse guy, but he hated coming out to LA and working for “the networks.” Mohr seemed to be making a breakthrough regarding the “do what you have to do, in order to do what you want to do” mindset. With hindsight being 20/20, it was a pretty powerful podcast.
