Got an idea for tomorrow morning’s workout. 2 actually. One I wanna simulate what it was like when I wrestled, so I’m thinking 2-3 minutes of burpees, then a 1 minute rest, and extending it for the 50 minutes I’ve been doing. Other idea is to hit 100 burpees as fast as possible, rest half as long as it took to get the 100, then go for 100 again, and just keep being brutal about it until time runs out. Both sound pretty stellar.

That’s 420 burpees in that workout. When I read it as a ladder, I didn’t realize both descending and ascending exercises were burpees! I’d like to try this but do one of the ladders as KB swings, giving my 210 reps of each.

“Boxing Match”
12 three minute rounds of burpees with 1 min rest between rounds
1 “sudden death” round of 1 min of unbroken burpees at end
Notes: This was clutch. Recreated some feelings from my martial arts days. Pushed the pace as hard as I could for every round and then went all out for the sudden death. Definitely a keeper.

Went outside, shot a single leg with my elbows out, flipped onto my back and ate balls. 15 seconds total.

2 minute drills can be brutal.
Ya know, I never got quick pinned, but I DID have a dude that figured out I was a goon and just kept shooting in double legs and letting me get back up again so he could tech fall me. It’s hard to determine which is more embarassing, haha.
If I wasn’t in a hotel, I’d do some sprawl drills. Miss those.
The only saving grace I can reach for was that mine was from a guy (kid at the time) that went on to the Olympics.

At the airport today and thought of you. My daughter walked through the security check and they asked her to stand and be scanned, and then asked me if they could pat her down. She asked me why afterwards and I said maybe the scan showed her as a funny shape. Told my wife about my mate in the USA who’s traps are so big people think he is smuggling stuff under his shirt. We both had a laugh because my daughter is so skinny she is like a skeleton with a wet rag over it. Maybe they could see her bones in the scan. Lol
Just as I was laughing about that I then realised they had taken my bag for an explosives scan …. again. I must look very dodgy!!

Notes: Another 500 burpees to end the trip. First 50 were done in right around 3 minutes, last 50 done at 4:10. This took longer than EMOM but was more brutal, so I feel like it was a better training effect.

I aim to do more today, but wanted to log that I got my 10x10 deads at 385 with 2 min first thing this morning off a slice of peanut butter toast after traveling all day and 500 burpees yesterday because I am a goddamn machine and honestly f**k everything.
Had to cut it after that to take care of some morning obligations, but jumping back into Deep Water after a week off was a great start.

Notes: Took another dead stop on the final rep of the final set. Coming into this first thing in the morning, after a day of traveling, a day after 500 burpees, after a week away from weights, was absolutely what I needed. I have conquered the beginner program. Day was crazy so I split things up, as demonstrated below.

Notes: Did this WOD to get in the required squat technique reps and some extra work. Daily work has slipped the past 2 days, but I get in what I can where I can when I can. Did this bare shirted, and given that I did my 500 burpees while a documentary on Berserkers played in the background, it seems fitting.
My headspace is the best it’s been in a LONG while, and this is the second time that’s happened on Deep Water. There’s gotta be something to crushing workouts and a meat heavy diet causing a spike in anabolism, but whatever the case, this has been a stellar “cure” for what ails me. I gotta finish out this week, then roll straight into intermediate.
Working a 12 right now. When I get back, I’ll smash the back workout and my 2lb tomahawk ribeye with my maker’s mark and just keep this going.
