@rroo I had my eye on a comp that had that slated. COVID unfortunately came for it, but they’re still out there somewhere…

@kleinhound That was an amazing event.

Got Kaz right here for you

@ChongLordUno You got me sold, haha. I’ll have to give it a go before work sometime.

BUILDING THE MONOLITH Week 3, Workout 2

Incline treadmill walk w/80lb vest
Speed: 3.0 mph
Incline: Start art 7 and increase .5 every 10 minutes
Distance: 2.5 miles

Notes: Fran was there to get some blood flowing and help recover after yesterday. Left hamstring is being tight/twingy. Gonna need to watch it for deads tomorrow. Couple of COAs if I need them: use my spud inc gateway gear briefs, wrap the hamstring with a knee wrap, or use the trap bar for tomorrow. All assuming things don’t heal of course. Walking on the treadmill loosened it up some, as did some GHRs, so I think keeping movement up will be key. May be running with the Mrs later: see how things shake out.

Took some apple cider vinegar mixed with green tea this morning vs my normal capsule supplement of it. I actually thought it improved the taste of the tea. Be sure to make it a more regular thing.

How much vinegar? I feel like it’d be so hard to cover up that bitterness. When I drink it I gotta just gulp it and get it over with.

Just started adding ACV to my diet, but it’s hard to drink even mixed into stuff. Supposedly it can lower blood sugar numbers a bit, but no detectable effects yet for me.

Yeah, I have been using the capsules for about 6 months now. First time using the straight vinegar. Not bad with the green tea. I would just shoot it, but apparently the acidity will ruin your teeth and esophagus.

Just curious, are you still taking Alpha Male?

Yup. Still 5 on/2 off.

Hardest part is ever having an empty stomach to take it on, haha.

Might be in my head, but I’ve found that a tbsp after a large meal seems to help with digestion

Probably
Acid balances the bitterness and the fruitiness of ACV highlights the fragrance. I’d imagine it’s a similar reason to why lemon in tea is popular

Of the tea? The bitterness is an important part of the flavour!

I took a shot of it and it gave me a sore throat for a few days, burned worse than any alcohol. I definitely learned my lesson to dilute.

No, of the vinegar. Like I wouldn’t want to put it in a cup of tea and drink it, since that’d prolong having to taste the vinegar.

I do use it if I get heartburn, which can happens after consistently unhealthy meals. I feel like it helps. If I feel like I have gas I’ll just try to gulp down a sparkling water, which I normally hate, but I feel like the carbonation makes me have to burp, which helps relieve the discomfort.

This is what I do. Gets it over with faster, haha. But the last time I did it went down the wrong tube and I spent what felt like a full minute gasping for breath with my throat burning. I had a sore throat and kinda lost my voice for like two days. It’s made me reconsider the capsules.

10mins before food ideally to help gut health is the recommendation I’ve been given.

fwiw I water is down slightly, gulp it down, then a little more water to flush any remaining flavour from the mouth.

got ot- might just be in my head then.
Will try pre meal next time

@T3hPwnisher since you have had every kind of strain/pain/overuse injury you’re probably the best one to ask:
Have you ever had something like shin splints, but in your forearms? I’m thinking they have been caused by ludicrous amounts of diamond pushups but not sure. I’m not too worried about it, curious mostly if you know what causes it.

Tendonitis? Like around your elbow?

No, that’s been a huge problem but its getting better and I’m basically ignoring it now.
This is along the forearm bone, like if you wer striking down with the forearm as a blade, the leading edge of the “blade” (bone) is tender. Like shin splints but on the forearm. Its not limiting me in any way, just a weird feeling.

I’ve gotten that sensation from hitting the heavy bag if I don’t build up volume and force properly over time. An overuse injury that went away with rest.

Am I the only one who actually kind of enjoys the taste of acv? Diluted 1 or 2 tbsp in about 300ml of water it’s not bad. Not that I actually use it but when I have it’s ok.
