Rebirth of the Juggernaut: Brute Force and Ignorance (Part 1)

I’m assuming all that fiber is necessary to offset the digestive tract carpet bombing of the erythritol ?

Note: operating on the assumption that all sugar alcohols have the same negative impact on gut microbiome

Doubt it. The fiver seems to cause more problems for some ppl

I figured. I was responding to @ChongLordUno

Never tried that flavour. Our Costco only sells chocolate and cookie dough. We had cookies and cream and pb for a bit but haven’t seen it recently

For sure. I was just furthering the convo

@Voxel also helps to drive net carbs down.

I keep walking by this stuff at the store and I just can’t wrap my head around buying birthday cake flavored peanut butter. I’d definitely like to try it… but I don’t like birthdays and I don’t like cake.

And as always, looking crazy jacked dude.

Thanks dude. That’s my wife’s favorite flavor of the stuff. I prefer the cinnamon raisin almond butter.

Yeah @anna_5588 matey I don’t know if they sell them in the UK

Throw in the obstacle that i don’t have a Costco membership as well. Good thing cos it keeps me the hell away from Costco cake

@ChongLordUno There is something SUPER anabolic in that cake. I once spent 4 weeks away at some sort of extreme boot camp-esque thing and lost a bunch of weight from poor food and lots of walking, and I was bragging to my then girlfriend/future wife about how I was down 13lbs. I was going to get to see her in 3 days. My mom bought a Costco cake to celebrate. I ate the whole thing in 3 days…and regained all the weight, haha. Girlfriend was unimpressed.

Got in a 5 mile run after lunch. Working a late tonight, planning on doing Dan John’s mistake beforehand, or something similar.

Monash Uni. which made the low FODMAP diet, for people with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), seems to think erythritol is more well absorbed than some of the other polyols. In any case, they aren’t all equivalent but the general impact would probably be best qualified as something close to “carpet bombing.”

I have IBS. For me, Sorbitol and malitol go in and out within 15 min. I seem to tolerate erythritol, steviasan sucralose pretty well. Aspartame makes me want to puke

I have this mindset that quest bars are “too easy” but damn some of them are delicious and great macros.

@ChongLordUno After 28 days with no sugar, it was a HUGE system shock, haha. I ate like a refugee for those 3 days.

@littlesleeper Well now that you said it it won’t come true!

@gnomo Absolutely too easy: no hunting or foraging required, haha. Justin Harris has great nutritional advice, which is “If you can’t hunt it or grow it, don’t eat it”. I use that guideline pretty decently for my nutrition, but quest bars and yogurt still make some frequent appearances.

Actually, on that note, I made a baller fish taco today using some Costco fish sticks and these guys

The trick is you gotta crisp them, or else they’ll fall apart, but otherwise they really answered the mail.

Finished the night/started my night shift with some “Dan John’s Mistake”. 95lb thrusters alternated with 1 armed KB swings (switch hands each swing) at Tabata intervals of 20 seconds on/10 seconds off for a total of 16 rounds. I’m still gassing too early in the thruster, but this is solid, and it’s helping get blood flow to the legs to help them recover from BBB squats.

Tomorrow is a cheat meal. I’ll be trying out a keto pizza crust at a local place that I’ve heard rave reviews of. Going to top it with some meat and pineapple, because I’m that kinda guy. Slashing the saturated fats out of the rest of the day to make room, and planning on hitting Juarez Valley front squats when I get off shift and maybe a walk later. Will be staying up all day to reset my clock.

Notes: With Week 6 deadlifts tomorrow, I pushed the weight up high to keep total reps low. Amazed at how quick this went. Now 60lbs over the weight I started this whole process with: it’s just going fantastically well. May get in a walk later today, but going to try to ease off the throttle a little so I have some room for something great later. Cheat meal in the evening should help.

These Juarez Valley workouts sound sick as fuck

I HIGHLY recommend them. I actually have an idea for one based around the log viper press, but I’m struggling to think of the second movement, since the log hits just about everything. Maybe ab roll out or something.
