I’ll be completely transparent in saying that I could not care less what pizza crust tastes like. TBH I don’t even really like bread or rolls either. The only thing that matters to me is what is piled on top of it!
I no joke got some piedmontese hotdogs in the fridge that I’ll be cooking up soon. Kid likes them on Hawaiin sweet roll buns. I’m most likely gonna do a 1 carb tortilla or keto bun.
But MAAAAAAN, I miss the Costco Polish sausage. Can’t even get one any more.
Have you been introduced to the glory of stuffed crust pizza?
I’m not sure if I should pity you or be jealous. We had Pizza Hut’s new “Detroit” style pizza last night and it way phenomenal. The crust was thick and buttery. It was almost the in-between of their hand tossed and pan crust.
I love just about any meat that was crammed into an intestine and called a hot dog or sausage. I still accept that they’re probably not a great source of anything, but they’re tasty.
And you should get a discount on your Costco membership for all the name dropping you do in here. We go to Sam’s but Costco is here, as well. Sam’s doesn’t have all those fancy keto items you keep mentioning. I’m intrigued…
Absolutely- love it because of the cheese, they might as well just fry up cheese sticks around the edge of my pizza.
Ya man, I don’t know. I just see bread as a vehicle to get chopped up meat and cheese into my mouth.
Yeah, I have both memberships, and like them for different things. These days, Costco gets more love because they tend to align better with my nutrition and have the keto bread, but for some reason Sam’s has the BEST almond butter. Not sure why that is. I also like the taste of the grainfed meat at Sams more than Costco. As for their food courts, they were interchangible for me, but now neither one has the polish sausage; what the hell? Haha.
EDIT: I forgot: the other thing I like at Sam’s I can’t get at Costco is this

2lbs for under $2. I use it to make my salads at work.
Yup: it’s how you can get me to care about crust, haha.
I’m a huge carbhead, and I don’t mind riced cauliflower but good quality rice cooked to perfection just can’t be replaced without me noticing it. My freezer is full of riced cauliflower and I have no rice in the house, so it’s obviously not a dealbreaker but I’m 100% aware of the taste deficit every time I take a bite. It’s like turkey burgers - I’ve tried so many of them and there’s never been a time, even for a second, where I bit into a turkey burger and felt like it even scratched the surface of the deliciousness that is a beef burger.
So many of these are “itch scratchers”. Although I’ll say that those healthy noodles I posted earlier are fantastic, and I’m at the point where I actually like the salmon burgers I buy more than the beef burgers I buy…BUT if I were willing to buy fattier beef burgers I’d feel otherwise, haha.
Oh i know that something like those tots could either be viewed as junk food or whatever someone wants to label them as. In my books it would be a less impactful cheat. Last night for example, my wife got home late from taking groceries out to the farm and i got home late from work…she wanted me to order a pizza for her. Well, i am staying off the carbs, but i didnt want to cook either. So, the pizza place fortunately had oven baked (not breaded) wings…so for me that would also count as a less impactful cheat, or junk food, or whatever you would want to call it. And they were delicious.
I definitely do the wings when we order pizza. I don’t even consider that a cheat, so long as I can get them without sauce. But I also got into rotisserie chicken this way. Game was on, Mrs wanted me to bring home pizza and pasta from Pizza Hut, I was gonna order myself some wings but was in the middle of my Costco run (there it is again @Frank_C haha) and realized I could get a WHOLE chicken for $5 vs a handful of wings for twice as much. No brainer, haha.
I’m guessing the oil on the tots would be the unhealthiest aspect of that meal
I don’t really know enough about nutrition to say which part is the unhealthiest part, but it’s got plenty of things to not really like
PM WORKOUT (1400)

5 round circuit of
10 dips
8 BW hypers
5 95lb thrusters
4 standing ab wheel
25 pushdowns
50 pull aparts
30 GHRs
Notes: Didn’t want to spent too much time away from the Mrs during my 12 hours downtime, so went quick on this one. Threw the thrusters into the circuit as a way to keep the heart rate up, as I went straight from Fran into the circuit. This is shaping up well enough as a deload week. Going to do some DB pressing tomorrow, the front squat burpee thing the next day, and then most likely jump into BBB Beefcake after that.
Piedmontese hot dogs for dinner tonight. Had mine on keto friendly buns, with sugar free ketchup and some mustard, just to make it as “traditional” as possible. They’re a great product. Cooked them up on my smokeless indoor grill. I’m honestly just having fun playing around with food and cooking at this point: it’s like a whole new element to the equation for me to dive into. Got the thumbs up from the Mrs and the Kiddo on the hot dogs, so we’ll feature them more in the future.
Also got my stainless steel shaker bottle and “beserker” t-shirt from a viking based supplement company. Will take photos at some point.
Finished Comprehensive Performance Nutrition 1 and 2 by Justin Harris over the past 2 days. Great reads. The second one was a little too sciency and talked a lot about drugs, which wasn’t too valuable for me, but it ALSO had some of the best bits of just basic wisdom in it too. Highly recommend kindle reads.

CONDITIONING
Tabata boxing rounds on the BAS
Notes: Bench press deload, so got cute with the assistance and daily work. Decent enough circuit: got in the volume I wanted. Going to get in a run today, as the weather is decent and I’m due for one. Should also help me stay awake all day.
LUNCHTIME WORKOUT
5 mile run
Notes: Felt like I was running in sand. Lungs are strong, running muscles are weak. They’ll come back. I slipped and fell in the parking lot at work coming home, so my hip was a little buggy on the run. Lotta ice out today too, so I had to carefully navigate things.
Got some 92% dark chocolate that I want to start including in my diet. Originally I was packing Snickers minis and dark Reese’s thin cups for work snacks, and though yummy, I figured I could do better.
Have you tried Lily’s chocolates? It’s stevia sweetened so no added sugar. Lots of variety too
I haven’t. This has 2g of sugar.
I love to whole roast it in curry powder and then chop it into big chunks to use in place of rice for saucy curry dishes. It’s legit
Will have to try this!
Just read your blog post from a few days ago, super relevant to me right now. Awesome as always.
@kleinhound Fun fact about me: I have a curry allergy. Or, at least, an allergy to something IN curry. Have never taken the time to figure out WHAT that is, haha.
@boilerman Dude, if there is anyone right now currently living that blog, it’s you! Means a lot to get your accolades on it.

Time: 13:25

Notes: Think this is gonna be the last deload workout: just champing at the bit to get to the program. Hip still a little buggy from falling on it, so I upped the weight on the Juarez valley to remove any expectations and make the workout shorter. Meant I had some more gas in me for the SSB squats, so I went all out.
