@T3hPwnisher mate, your ‘ultimate weight gain’ plan looks solid.
Do you still agree this is the way to go?
I’m very tempted to get on this once this lockdown is over

I think those of use from over the sea think it’s all about the pumpkin pie because it’s something we done really do and whenever anyone talks about thanksgiving the pie gets a mention.
I always think “why in the hell would you make a pie out of vegetable when there’s all that delicious fruit there” or “that’s not a pie, there’s no lid and no custard”. I’m pretty narrow minded with my food.
The bigger issue is that American pumpkins are absolutely disgusting. Chinese pumpkins are sweet like honey
@heretolog Outstanding news! Glad to hear it.
@ChongLordUno I can’t personally vouch for it, as I’ve never actually run it, but I think it’s solid. @flappinit Did something really similar by running Building the Monolith and Deep Water back to back and had some very solid results thought, so I’d say it’s a hit, haha.
@dagill2 You have to keep in mind it’s a fall harvest feast. Not a lot of great fruit options. It’s how most of the traditional foods are established for the meal.
Mate, I’ll run that shit.
Only issue I have is Wendler’s diet protocol of 1.5lbs of ground beef and 6 eggs. Is this actually necessary? Wouldn’t a 200-300 kcal surplus suffice?
You gotta keep in mind I never count calories. I can’t speak to that. I definitely needed to eat like that to get through the program.
@flappinit ran both of these earlier in the year. His log is up there to see how he ate during it. I believe @zeptrey and @alex_uk have also completed BtM recently and might have some thoughts.
BTM adjacent, haha.
I think @flappinit rinsed off minced meat in a strainer to remove fat. Might be wrong.
One way I’ve looked at it is: if that amount of eggs and beef would make me a fatty I’m not big enough to do the program.
Along with that, if you get fat in 6 weeks, you were fat when you started, haha.
Or have previously been very fat and have a lot of adipocytes ready to fill up at a moment’s notice
Eh, I still find 6 weeks too short a time frame to “get fat”. Getting fat is like getting muscular: it takes time. No one accidentally gets fat.
Are you joking mate?
I gained 30lb of lean fat during the first lockdown. No exercise whatsoever
The secret? Chocolate and empire biscuits
Talk about mass made simple ![]()
Was your first lock down only 6 weeks? That’s crazy.
I wish
3/4 months ![]()
Yeah, that I can believe, haha. It takes time.
That’s still a great feat; not one you want to have achieved, but impressive nonetheless.
@dagill2 Thanks for the BtM tag but I didn’t do the diet, just drank cream, ate peanut butter and cheese and gained weight that way, probably got me fatter than just eating the mince and eggs would have! The program itself is horrible, but I’d still recommend everyone trying it.
I did, when I made taco bowls and stuff. But a lot of my meals were burgers, usually sans-bun, so I’d just let the burgers sit on a paper towel for a couple minutes and soak up some of the fat. Normally I wouldn’t even mind the fat but when you’re buying loads of ground beef, it’s cheaper to buy the 73% lean stuff and it’s quite fatty.
@ChongLordUno do it, dude. Normally we train hard and then decide how much we need to eat to recover, now you’re given what to eat and you have to decide how hard to train to necessitate that level of intake. Hammer that conditioning with the lifting.
I’m lucky to have bought a half beef before, so I had a bunch of burger. I’m also lucky to have chickens but I would constantly out eat their production. But I have a cafeteria where I work that helped me quite a bit. The diet for me wasn’t a problem. The damn chins got to me. All in all though, lifts and and size went up. I think I gained around 5lbs. Just make sure to condition on top of it all. I did the walking approach usually carrying a kid until I got the weight vest in. Don’t have a sled/prowler or bike.
