Notes: Back home and settling back to old routine. I like the little conditioning thing I came up with as a pseudo Fran. Gets in my daily swings and chins and my heart rate up. Did that first thing, before breakfast, then ate my yogurt (no more Finibars until the next trip sadly) and took the dogs around.
Came home yesterday and we went out to our favorite local Chinese buffet. Our area has actually lifted buffet restrictions recently and we could serve ourselves. I went buffet-mode for the first time in a LONG time. However, I was strategic in my selections. First plate was half a plate of mushroom, the other half green beans, and then I covered the top in broccoli and carrots from the beef broccoli entree, with just a few slivers of beef making it in. Second plate was 1/3 mushrooms, 1/3 green beans, 1/3 seafood medley (also heavy in veggies) with more broccoli on top. Third plate was a single piece of all the various breaded/sugar chicken options and then a lot of onions from the mongolian beef and various peppers. After living out of canned goods for 10 days, having access to so many veggies was just amazing.
Was insanely bloated after that. Lots of stomach pain. Hadnāt eaten that way in a LONG time. However, I got to experience something I had read about before: once you get real lean and then go and eat a whole bunch of salty/carby/fatty stuff like that, your body swells up and you look even more defined. Later that evening, after committing some GI atrocities, I was looking shredded
Also, itās a shame I had to change shirts before the photo, as I was wearing my brand new T-nation shirt at the buffet and doing the site some justice, but unfortunately got some grease splatter on it as a result. Was able to get the stains out though, so thatās a positive.
It absolutely is. Itās why Iām taking so many photos: this is just such uncharted waters for me. Iām used to āgo to buffet, overeat, look fatā Itās weird how it works in reverse.
You looked fatter because you suffer from a degree of body dsymorphia that requires the assistance of a professional therapist Anna. Until you receive that, it will continue.
6 mile run/1 mile walk with Mrs. This was honestly brutal. Running after Litvnov is apparently tough.
Earlier, I also got in 20 standing ab wheel reps and 1 set of 30 on GHR. Also did that gripper burnout workout Iāve been doing. My grip is honestly pretty fried from all the pulls and chins Iāve been doing.
But the best news of the day: my Doc allowed me to go 90 days without the statin after reviewing my medical records. From there, weāll review my bloodwork. Apparently his office wasnāt passing on to him any of my information regarding diet/lifestyle change, and once I informed him of that he was willing to work with me.
Iām hoping to see some changes in quality of life after this, as I do think Iāve been experiencing some of the side effects. And life OFF medicine is also preferable to life on it.
You always regret the photos you didnāt take. I always regret not taking photos of myself looking good but also regret not taking photos of myself looking 240lbs of awful. I feel those would both have been good reference points.
Do you do your ab wheels standing? I feel like Iām at a place where kneeling ones donāt challenge me but standing ones are too hard. Maybe I should do negatives and eat dirt with my face for a while.
Negatives work really well and you could also try doing them up an incline. Makes them much easier and you can work your way to flat.
Also, @T3hPwnisher Iāve been doing EMOMs for front squats lately and figured youād enjoy doing a 30 minute EMOM of triples. Probably going to try it with 275 in a couple of weeks and figured it might be something up your alley. Training is looking solid as usual brother!
EDIT: One more thing, Iāve been having really bad sciatica/piraformis issues lately and your rest pause method used with the SSB has been a godsend. I get all my main work in without going super heavy and have little aches the next few days. Iāve been doing them the past few weeks and I did a variant of it today with 20-15-10-5 and enjoyed the hell out hating my life and choices, so thanks.
I can finally get standing ones, but for me the way to transition from kneeling to standing was doing them in front of a wall/fence. Start standing about 6 feet away and roll out to the wall, which will decrease the range of motion and make it easier to come back. Keep moving back away from the wall farther and farther until eventually you can can fully extend and make it back without the wallās help.
Iāve been thinking of trying this where I stop against a wall for a while first. If that makes sense. At least until I can do it with out bloody noses. Just havenāt done it yet.
Still trying to do kneeling ab wheel without lower back pain first.
That is an AWESOME idea on front squats: that might be exactly what I do next time now that I donāt have my Litvinov set up. Glad the Xeno approach is working/causing misery, haha. Really struck some gold on it
Wanted to brag that my wife is awesome. Itās my birthmonth, and we tend to celebrate all month long. She got me this for my work meals.
