Rebirth of the Juggernaut: Brute Force and Ignorance (Part 1)

Dear lord.

Next semester, I’ll be cooking for myself and coursework might actually get hard. What are your thoughts on me eating a dozen boiled eggs as a cheap way to get daily protein in without hassle

So all of these are sets x reps? I seriously can’t wrap my head around that. Like should we call the Guinness book of world records?

No. Sets times weight used- which doesn’t make the rest of us feel any less weak :joy::sweat_smile:

@kdjohn They definitely aren’t internet approved chins, haha. But they’re stretching the lats something fierce.

@anna_5588 If you’re living in the dorms, such cuisine may be met with disdain. I know my co-workers didn’t like when I ate hardboiled eggs. Otherwise, I add a dozen of them a day for 6 weeks while doing 5/3/1 Building the Monolith. It’s viable. I can’t stand hardboiled eggs, so I used sugar free BBQ sauce to get them down.

@Koestrizer Hah, if only. @anna_5588 nailed it.

I think @loganator did this for a time. It would turn me into a biological hazard. I’d probably be in breach of the Geneva convention.

@anna_5588 @T3hPwnisher I should really think before typing. That was stupid. Nonetheless that is crazy strong dude!

Edit: A few hours later I can’t believe I typed above… That has to be one of the stupidest things I ever said online! But I mean on the other hand, I can imagine Pwn going: ā€œyeah don’t mind me mate, I’m just over here doing fucking 1355 pull ups in one workout. What’s the big deal?ā€
I mean if anyone was to do it…

Shh… dangerous information is already to easily available on the internet!

Happen to capture a video of that one?

Nah. Haven’t been recording most of the press days, since it’s just been numbers plummeting, haha. Things seem to be evening out a bit now though, so I may grab some in the future.

Haha yeah, that’s pretty fair.

Man on the French toast I usually make it in bulk it isn’t to bad. But no worries either way. It was something that has really helped me. I love sweets and with sugar free syrup it takes the edge off.

So your set up there kinda reminds me of a combo of conjugate and Brian schwabs M2 method of gradually increasing ROM. I like the way you have that laid out. It’s linear with varying lifts programmed in. I’ve lost a LOT of strength since losing all this weight and want to do something that inspires me to get back on the strength wagon. I had to go all in on weight loss and strength was an after thought.

When you do your front squats with ssb do you load the bar on your shoulder reverse of if you were having it on your back? I have a ssb and love it. It’s a great shoulder saver. Thanks for the reply man!

I’m sure his french toast is good. I just don’t get what’s the difference between his french toast and regular french toast made with egg whites and a crap ton of vanilla and cinnamon (which is how I make it).

Lol there really isn’t a big difference. But the goal is to get as much egg white in a single piece of bread as possible. This becomes a challenge sometimes. Whipped eg white cartons help a lot with this.

I just put the bread in and do shit for a while. I usually get about 1/4 cup into each piece

That’s not too bad of an idea. Right now I have a kodiak waffle with my pre-workout meal, but that could be something I swap for. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but instead a ā€œmeat toothā€: always been a fan of high fat meats, processed stuff, etc. It’s been a blessing and a curse, haha. PB fit has really saved me through this: goes on everything, peanut butter flavor but low calorie/fat.

The max effort work is a nice way to take your way off strength loss. I’m a big fan of abandoning previous movements or changing them up enough that I can’t compare PRs when I’m in a state like this. So if you were using a barbell for presses, benches, deads, etc, go with an axle and have no baseline to compare against, for example.

With the SSB front squats, it’s like this

Ditto on the feelings of the SSB. The only thing I don’t like about it is how MUCH I like it. Barbell squatting tends to make me stronger all over just because of how much they suck, but I’d sooner use the SSB.

I like it gonna have to give those a shot.

Yeah low bar sucks on my shoulders. High bar isn’t as bad but ssb is awesome. I can’t handle as much weight with it however. Maybe a good thing on my spine but hurts the ego. Lol

That’s pretty much what I do. And soak the next batch while the previous cooks. When I first started doing this I was buying whole eggs and tossing the yellow. Basically it was much cheaper that way as I was getting 18 eggs for .50-1.00 depending on the week. I have paid as low as 24 cents for 18 eggs. I’d whip them to make the more watery but they still wouldn’t soak as well I. The bread. I now spend waaaaay more money on the cartons and it works so much better. Idk maybe I should whip them longer or something but the extra few bucks no biggy I guess.

Been at 2 dozen a day the past few months (sometimes only 5-6 days a week though). Was around 12-18 a year ago and 10ish the year before that. Is this what coaches mean by progressive overload?

Agree with Pwnisher that boiled are gross, I’ll gag if I have more than a couple at a time.

No digestive problems so maybe I’m one of the lucky ones or my gut biome has permanently shifted to egg mode

Same boat. Milk doesn’t bother it either. And yeah: I can’t eat a dozen scrambled or fried eggs fast enough, but when they’re hard boiled it’s a chore. Weird how it all shakes out.
