Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

Don’t take this wrong, but I think you could benefit from some direct should work. maybe some pec work. You’re cut, that’s for sure, but a little mass there would really frame the abs nicely. My shoulders disappeared when I cut weight for a lower weight class, but are bigger than ever with the TRT

Oh, I don’t take it the wrong way at all, brother! I appreciate the feedback. I know I have plenty of work to do, especially around the chest/shoulders/triceps (back/biceps is my strongest point). I spent 8 years training fruitlessly, with no idea WTF I was doing, and am just starting to figure things out. Hoping to get my shoulders up like you did and turn into a gorilla!

BTW, cannonball delts are an indicator of PED use, pretty easy to grow these.

Yeah man, definitely a good sign of juice. I’ve actually already seen growth in my delts since starting TRT – probably more growth here than anywhere else!

After conferring with my provider, I made the switch to daily injections – started today. I injected 14 mg, which comes out to roughly 200 mg per week across 7 days. Considering how much better I’ve felt on 3X a week compared to 2X, I’m excited to see if 7X feels even better!

Not sure if it was miss type but 14mg a day is 98mg a week so closer to 200 every 2 weeks.

Everyday is what my doc wants me to do also. Sucks still having to do it everyday like the cream. I’m going to start pre-loading syringes though and then it will go faster than the slathering.

My bad – 14 on a 1 mL syringe, which I believe equates to 28 mg, correct? I’ve always thought you just double it up, so 50 in the syringe would be 100 mg and 100 in the syringe would be 200 mg. That’s how I’ve done the math

I think everyday is a good plan, man, just based on everything I’ve read and all the anecdotes I’ve seen. It may be inconvenient but I’ll do anything to feel my absolute best. I’m most worried about scar tissue building up, actually, with all the holes I’ll be poking.

Yeah that sounds right if you have 200mg/ml test.

Are you sticking with IM? I’m starting with subq, so am only sticking with a 30 ga 1/2" needle and the thing is so little I’m not too worried about it.

The sticking part isn’t bad at all with convenience, its just loading up the needles, especially with a 30 ga. Think on Saturdays or Sunday will just pre-fill them for the week and then won’t take much time at all.

Definitely looking forward to just sticking myself and go do whatever the hell I want and not worry about sweating or washing it away

Absolutely hear you. That was the worst part of cream. It really threw off the timing of my day – not the case at all with injections. In and out in a couple minutes, no thinking about how it will affect the rest of my day. Gotta love it!

Yep, I am sticking with shallow IM in the delts. I use a 28g needle, and it’s also very small. Sometimes I feel the jab – today it was noticeable – but it’s never too painful, and I rarely bleed. SubQ is even better for pain, but I prefer IM for effectiveness, just based on what I’ve read on various forums.

Loading up the needles definitely takes some time, so preloading may be a good plan (any hygiene issues there?), but it’s not very much when you’re just injecting a tiny amount (like 28 mg) – maybe a minute or so?

I wouldn’t think so as long as you don’t contaminate inside the cap or the needle itself and then cap it again until you use it. I told my wife who works in the medical field and is pretty uptight about that stuff what I was doing and she didn’t seem too concerned. :man_shrugging:

I think I may experiment later with IM. I would like to give both a shot just in case I may feel better on one versus the other.

Waste of time.

The difference is negligible.

Don’t make TRT your life. Just do it, eat well, lift hard, enjoy the benefits.

Move on.

I don’t mean to be a dick, but this is like taking vitamins. They make you feel better, but you don’t need to obsess over it.

Is the difference you’re talking about Re: IM/SubQ or injection frequency? I may agree with you on the former point – I can’t really say, haven’t injected T SubQ – but would beg to differ on the latter, based on my experience.

That’s good to know; I might do the same! Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it.

Not really obsessing over it just curious as some say they feel more IM. Just want to optimize as much as possible. If it really is neglible won’t be any skin off my back to try.

@bkb333 how long are the needles you use on your delts?

Both.

I prefer subq, but not a big diff. Frequency was negligible for me as well, but I don’t discount it.

I think frequency does matter a lot, especially if you make a jump like 1X a week or every other week to something like 3X a week. It may not make a big difference in my case (going 3X a week to 7X), but I figure it can’t hurt to try.

I’m so early in this process – only 6 months on T – so I’m still testing and experimenting a lot, and it still gets me fired up. That may seem naive, but T has made such a massive difference in my life, man, it’s hard to describe. I feel like a different person.

I use 28g, 1/2" insulin needles from EasyGauge. They’re great! I use 30g for my SubQ injections of hCG – also great.

Don’t disagree. I think we are all snowflakes and certain things work better for different people.

My dad shoots IM 300mg E14D, and he is all good with that.

I prefer 100mg subq e5d.

Whatever.

But, it takes me three minutes, tops, to shoot. The rest of my day, I’m doing other shit.

Don’t get consumed by this. Eat well, gym well, work hard, enjoy life.

@jackolee Would you mind sharing with me your showday routine, as far as when you consumed foods/water and how you pumped up? I have the option to take the photos anytime – was learning toward the morning, because I’m not holding water at that time and my abs are the clearest. Maybe wake up, eat something like some rice cakes with PB half an hour before, then a snickers right before, get a pump, take the photos.
