Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

Got it. Thanks so much. Both IM? Also it seems most men are more successful on frequent smaller doses but my directions state 1 injection a week but is flexible. I was initially going to start the way it is written but now am leaning more towards 2 to 3x per week. Sorry if Im hijacking but im pretty nervous and very grateful to have help from you guys!

I do IM and yes, most that I know that do well with TRT do at least 2 injections per week.

Appreciate the help!

Yep, 3X a week has been better for me than 2X was, and yes, IM (into the delts).

Weighing in.

140 a week in two injections, Subq. I do Saturday at 80 mg and Wednesday at 60mg.

I supplement with fish oil, curcumin (turmeric) and some multis. No AI, No hcg.

Pretty simple really.

It starts with a good doc. Don’t choose a clinic if you want proper guidance.

Most guys are good at 150-200mg doses daily.

Check thyroid and optimize that if it’s below 80% of the range.

Add vitamin d, pregnalanone, dhea, and daily vitamins.

Focus on getting lean and eating healthy for a proper life style.

That’s really it. Trust in your body it knows what to do.

Just remember the first 1-3 months can be rough. Your body is getting used to the new hormones. Expect some water retention, itchy and perky nopples and a screwed up sleep and mood pattern.

Take a lab around 3 months in.

Don’t fuck with HCG and ai or anything else.

If you can get your hands on scrotal applies cream I highly suggest it. It works fast and you don’t need 6 weeks to stabilize levels. Libidos awdOme and etc. you would need 100mg am and Pm or 150 am and Pm. Anything lower waste of time.

Try twice a week but daily is going to guarantee better results. If you do subq ofcourse.

IM three times a week is great if your taking small doses like 60mg. If over take 3 weekly or daily. Or eod .

Why not hCG? I take it to maintain fertility, which is super important to me and my wife.

I’ve been contemplating going to even more frequent injections (my current protocol is 3X/week). Debating 5X/week or even every day. Thinking I’ll talk about this with my provider at my next appointment.

Awesome. Thanks again!

This thread is way too big for me to find it at this point…

What did your bloodwork look like originally? What symptoms/issues did you have?

Obviously, they seem to be doing much better now… so just curious where you started. I saw in the other thread where you posted about your SHBG being higher than mine so that piqued my interested, haha

Gotta reiterate this point. The guys who do the best, I think, are the guys who stay on top of research and forums, yes, but MOST IMPORTANTLY take care of the big pillars (nutrition, training, sleep) — dudes who lift and stay on top of their food intake consistently.

At least on therapeutic doses, T will not be a miracle fix for shitty lifestyle.

Original labs

Total T: 1008 (ref 264-916)
Free T: 7.8 (ref 9.3-26.5)
SHBG: 186 (ref 16.5-55.9)
Albumin: 4.9 (ref 3.6-7.0)

I had all the typical symptoms, especially low sex drive. That has improved tremendously, which is great, though it’s still not perfect. Also seen big improvements in body comp. I weighed 180 the day I started HOT and 180 this morning – but it looks a lot different!

Awesome! Pretty similar here… my TT isn’t that high, but I did some blood work maybe 6-7 months ago that actually did have it that high, and my FT was still that low, similar to yours.

It’s crazy how you can weigh the same and look so different. Not that you’re fat in the first picture or anything to begin with, haha. I’m similar to your first picture with maybe 2-3% more body fat (and/or less muscle & height since I’m like 15lbs lighter)

Your situation obviously isn’t as crazy as mine was, so I’m sure you can get yourself straightened away! Just make sure you are mindful of those big pillars we mentioned and you’ll be on the fast track to a new life. Who are you working with? Lots of guys around here go with Defy or Keith Nichols.

Yeah dude, I felt really in shape pre-HOT. I look at that photo now and think I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy! I was probably around 20% BF then and half that now, with a few pounds more of muscle mass. I don’t know if this is something you’ll care about, but I also look way more like a grown man now because I can grow a thick, full beard – waaaay more facial hair than I had before. People used to think I was around 20, now I get early 30s.

So grateful for how much hormone optimization has revolutionized my appearance and life in general. It’s been a huge game-changer!

I’ve always gotten the ā€œyou look early 20’sā€ thing too… I’m 35 now. I used to only shave once a week and have zero chest hair and almost no leg or arm hair. I’m assuming that will change soon with a little extra test

I just can’t get too hairy, my fiancĆ© isn’t into hairy guys and likes little boys apparently (that is a joke, but she does like smooth cut), haha

Dude, very similar situations. I used to get so annoyed when people would make comments about how young I looked – it was a point of insecurity. Now it never happens anymore.

Your body hair will definitely be changing! She’ll get used to know your new, masculine self…something tells me she won’t be disappointed

I need to go over this thread. I’ve got low free and high SHGB, looks like you’ve fixed that issue

Wouldn’t say I have it fixed necessarily but definitely well on my way! Danazol + high-dose T injections has been the formula for me. @traveling-man is another dude in this situation whose thread would be good to follow.

I hate to even ask this question before I sit down and read the thread, but the danazol, how did you get prescribed this? From what I read it doesn’t mention anything related to TRT.
