Super jelly of these things you’ve noticed from Var.
The only thing I’ve noticed is 1. I now eat a blue pill once a day an hour before my workout. 2. The scale stopped for a bit, went from 198 to 202 and wouldn’t budge an ounce, it’s slowly creeping back down, at 200 now .
Same thing happened when I took dbol… absolutely nothing. No weight gain, no feels, no pumps, no strength. Nothing. Apparently I’ve got the fucking genetics of a pencil sharpener when it comes to steroids.
On Masteron Prop 150mg/week I started having (what seemed like to me at least) significant hair loss starting around the end of month 3. It was coming out in clumps. Doesn’t seem to have been a permanent thing though at least in my case. My beautifully thick locks have returned too avenge the vajine once again.
Libido was sky high but it’s also been sky high since so maybe it was always sky high? Perhaps.
Felt pretty good. Nothing crazy noticeable though in that department.
I did get very vascular and had veins on my veins.
All in all it was a good experience but not sure it was worth the hair loss stress. Maybe at higher doses?
I had that experience with anadrol. I quit it after 3 weeks. I still stand by my belief that winsterol is the best oral out there. I haven’t tried all of them though, but at this point I’m feeling like I don’t need to.
I hope you are right I just dropped 290 EUR’s of bitcoins on winny. I am a huge Anavar fan and have not tried anadrol. Only time will tell if winny will dry me up.
Damn, brother. Really sorry to hear that! You still taking it?
Wanted to give it some time before I posted an update. 1 month in, I can report that I, too, haven’t noticed all that much (@ 50 mg EOD).
To its credit, I do think Oxandrolone has helped a bit with body comp — made it slightly easier to add LBM. I went from 177-182.
Well-being - nominal to negative effects. My mental health (anxiety/depression) has actually felt worse than usual. Obviously there are always other factors to consider (especially as I have a 4-month-old who often hates sleeping at night) but Anavar hasn’t made me feel better.
I think it has hurt libido — not that my sex drive was high previously, but it has been quite low. Again, the baby/sleep are probably playing a role, but I don’t think Anavar has helped in this department.
I had extensive labs last week and will share the data soon. I hypothesize:
HDL plummets
SHBG drops considerably and FT:TT ratio increases
Overall health markers worsen
Plan moving forward? I’ll probably finish off the var (I have 10 tablets left) and then simply try bumping my T dose. It’s already high at 238/week, but contemplating trying out a very high monotherapy (300-350).
The highest I’ve ever pushed it was 260 (with Danazol), which marks the best I’ve felt in my 2.5 years on TRT. After listening to the Witmers on Mark Bell’s podcast, I’ve been inspired to say “fuck it” to worrying about high lab values and chase symptom resolution.
I’ve gained some fat, but doesn’t look too messy! Hitting Hawaii in September, so weighing a mini cut this summer - but don’t want to negate my progress.
Baby is good! Being a dad has had its ups and downs. He’s had sleep struggles, which were brutal, but is seemingly starting to turn the corner. Thank goodness! I’ve learned mental health is SO dependent on good sleep.
The main thing you’ve missed is my experiment with oxandrolone (anavar) @ 50 mg EOD. It’s had some positive body comp effects (I think), but I don’t plan on sticking with it.
My current plan is to bump up to a super high T dose (300-350 mg) and do T mono. But waiting on bloodwork results (coming any day) before moving forward.
Test results (var @ 50 mg EOD; T @ 238 mg/week) are in! I had a ton measured. Highlights below.
HDL – down to 24 (was 35) – honestly was expecting an even more significant decrease
LDL – up to 109 (was 93)
Triglycerides – up to 60 (was 48)
Estradiol – stayed steady (53 to 54.4)
Total T (via LC/MS) – down to 1291 (was 2435.2)
Free T – up to 60.68 (was 26) – the report says my FT% is 4.7…could this be right? It’s so high! I also had TT and FT measured through the conventional Labcorp test, with results of 1204 and 35.7, respectively.
SHBG – down to 27.8 (was 73.1) – by far the lowest SHBG I’ve ever seen. WOW! This must explain the high FT:TT ratio.
ALP – down to 32 (was 41)
ALT – up to 40 (was 27)
AST – up to 38 (was 30)
RT3 – up to 17.7 (was 12.9)
My interpretation: these numbers are probably great for gains but very bad for longevity.
Could be sooooo much worse. These are some of the best bloods I’ve ever seen on anavar. Hell @anon18050987’s HDL goes down into the single digits on 7.5mg/day!
I told someone Total T would probably go down on Var (clearance rate goes up when SHBG goes down), and Free T would be lower, higher or the same depending on the individual (most likely up though). He thought I was crazy.
@anon18050987@unreal24278 I’m curious what you two will think of switching from the high T (238) + anavar (50 mg EOD) approach to just higher T (300-350). Given these bloods, I’m also weighing using a smaller dose of oxandrolone as part of my regular protocol (maybe 5 or 15 mg EOD?) but I really would like to see the HDL go back up and don’t know if that’ll be feasible with var in the mix.
