Gotcha, so you’re mid-range on everything. I’m curious to see the estrogen result. What symptoms are you having and what are your stats (age, weight, BF, etc)?
My symptoms are ones typically associated with low T - low sex drive, much fewer erections (though quality of them is still great), lack of morning wood, finding myself getting tired during the day, slower recovery (not so much in terms of the gym and soreness, but if I have a really late night at work, or night out partying I’m really dead the next day compared to when I was younger).
One of the reasons that these symptoms raised a red flag to me was that about 7 months ago, I switched jobs to one that’s much less stressful and one with better hours. Therefore, even though sleep has improved quite a bit in terms of quality and quantity, I haven’t seen any of these symptoms improve.
My stats are: Age - 40, Weight 175, BF - I would guess somewhere in the 10-15% range.
Live a pretty healthy lifestyle, clean diet, no alcohol or drugs, Lift 4x5 times a week, plus cardio (walking or jogging, nothing too intense here)
He’s only on 135mg/week. Most folks using it to get jacked are at 400+mg and larger doses of T. It seems like it’s all or nothing (you get it or you don’t) but most people don’t have those issues. If you’re going to run it you might as well do the full 100mg so it’s actually worth using.
Sounds like your situation is really similar to mine when I started (except that you’re about 15 years older). We also have very different SHBG values – mine was super high, yours is pretty normal. Honestly, your hormone numbers don’t jump off the page to me, but it’s really hard to say what’s going on until I see the E value. Also, some guys need to be at the higher end of the range – or above-range – to feel normal. That’s how I am.
@enackers could provide good insight on your thyroid numbers.
You’re probably right. The TRT + Hormone Optimization group would have you thinking this is nothing to be concerned about and Deca-dick is imaginary. Not sure why they’re so confident about that given all the anecdotes.
The weird thing is one of the prominent members there quit taking it because he started feeling so weird from it. I’ve never seen that posted over there though.
Is that Danny?
Thanks! Additional labs:
Estrogen - 17.1 pg/mL (8.0 - 35)
Reverse T3 - 23.1 ng/dL (9.2 - 24.1)
This could be causing energy issues. I have heard (from Defy) that most don’t feel very good until they get to low teens. However, they are making money prescribing cytomel for the issue, so there is that.
Thou shall not name names ![]()
I also had high RT3 and they prescribed cytomel, so I’m sure they’d give him the same.
@af787, honestly, your hormone numbers are pretty normal – but there’s no need to base your decision on numbers. You should follow symptom resolution, brother.
Even if someone feels fine at mid-range but wants to feel better at high-range, I see no issue with that. It’s legal and, if done properly, will be life-affirmative rather than life-inhibiting (both in the short and long run).
It’s not normal to hop on testosterone if you’re in the middle of the reference range, but it’s also not normal to do it at age 27, and I did. Following ‘normal’ in America gets you fat and broke.
@bkb333 - Thanks! I’m going to set up a consultation with Defy, and start unless for some reason they provide a compelling reason/advise not to.
This quote needs to go on a t shirt or something
They won’t – they like money ![]()
Interesting video here on Gerard Butler’s transformation for 300. Insane how much he inflated and then deflated.
IMO he was definitely taking more than 300 mg test – might have even pushed a gram for this short time period – and perhaps also something of the dianabol/deca ilk. The man gained 20-30 pounds of lean mass in less than a year and then instantly dropped it. Unreal.
He is more at home with a cigarette and a beer than in the squat rack or pulling deads.
IMO, Derrick from MPMD generally gives people to much benefit of the doubt. Basically, if he says you took steroids, it means Ronnie could not have achieved your physique transformation naturally.
He said he believed Lee Priest when he said he took two CC’s of primo, and two CC’s of Deca and occasionally some anadrol to achieve his physique. First of all dose is not in CC’s. When Lee was in the game, primo and deca almost always were 100 mg/cc. IMO, it is not believable for anyone to look like Lee with 200 primo a week, 200 deca a week, and a few A-bombs thrown in. But Derrick was like why would he lie.
Agree with this. I like his positive disposition and he’s an honest guy, just giving his real thoughts, but it always seems he underestimates what people actually took.
Lee Priest was one of the sickest bodybuilders ever. I remember him being on the cover of magazines when I was a little kid and didn’t give a shit about working out and thinking WOW! Lee was 5’4 with 21.6 inch arms. That’s about as impressive as it gets. Ronnie was 5’11 with 22’s.
My favorite pic
thats pretty damn lean
