Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

There have been some studies that shed some light on what women want in a man. I remember one study in which what women said they wanted out loud did not match what they picked on the screen. They picked broader more muscled men on average when selecting on the screen. I believe they didn’t include the face in this study. Basically, women say they want swimmer, but actually want underwear model.

In another study they asked women what size they would want their partner to be as a husband, or in a one night stand. They didn’t use measurements, but actually had 3D printed johnsons for them to pick. For one night stands, the women picked larger johnsons than for husband material. The average women wanted an above average johnson for a one nighter.

My theory is women don’t want to sound shallow, so they describe smaller than they actually want.

Yeah, I remember those studies as well. I think the husband/one-night-stand study pertains to women’s sense that the man will stick around. If you have a guy who is overly appealing, the risk of him leaving for another mate increases. I believe this is where the ‘women prefer a dadbod’ line of thinking came from, which obviously is misguided.

Agree with this. However, their idea of ‘bigger’ is still undoubtedly smaller than our idea of it. I wonder why guys are so driven to get huge. Maybe it’s an evolutionary thing, like social hierarchy dominance, wanting to be the biggest in the tribe.

This video is related to what we’ve been talking about:

Brad Pitt has the definition of the ‘swimmer’s body,’ IMO, and his physique is perfectly attainable for everyday Joes like me.

Why would they pick a bigger dick for a one nighter but not to marry? Like “oh this might be fun but maybe not forever”? Or is it more a guy with a big dick is viewed as more promiscuous?

I agree. Women generally don’t want a Ronnie Coleman physique for their partner. I better keep the training in check. I don’t want to accidentally get to that size.

I have to remind myself of this every day!

I can’t remember the details of why they picked bigger dicks for one nighters. One theory is that if it is painful they only want to try it once. I think the promiscuous thing was brought up. I don’t think there is much to that though in reality.

Basically if you talk to a woman about your huge dick, I can’t imagine that being a turn on. I would suspect she would think the opposite. Basically, it only helps you once you have secured the deal.

If Brad Pitt in Troy is the definition of the “swimmer’s body” I don’t know why I didn’t buy a pool instead of a rack.

I think his physique is pretty good. I also don’t think many women would turn him down for being to muscled even though it is a far better physique muscle wise than almost anyone ever achieves.

Well, maybe he’s bigger than a swimmer, but not by much. As he points out in the video, Pitt was about 160 pounds. So I wouldn’t agree that “it is a far better physique muscle wise than almost anyone ever achieves.”

I mean Eddie Hall was a HS champion swimmer, so there is that. Maybe if we are considering Olympic level swimmers and not HS level swimmers (big difference between them).

I have watched some of the more plates more dates videos including the Brad Pitt one. I think sometimes he needs to look at the percent of people who have achieved that physique that are natural. Plenty of people on roids could be that big naturally it would just take longer and be harder. He gives people the benefit of the doubt and while they have naturally achievable physiques it is not common at all.

Oh, I fully agree with you that it’s not common. That’s why there are more millionaires in the world than people with six-packs – and Pitt goes beyond six-pack level leanness, probably dipping close to 5-6% BF. My goal is to emulate that level of leanness this summer. I think I’d probably look similar to him, muscle-mass wise.

I like MPMD a lot. Though he’s definitely ‘in’ the bodybuilding world – which can skew his perspective – I think he has a pretty rational POV and has evolved. He used to be focused on being a mass monster but now emphasizes overall aesthetic appeal and well-being, which I like.

Close to fight club Brad. IMO he was quite a bit bigger in Troy than fight club. That or they did a lot of tricks to make him look bigger.

tenor

Yeah, definitely bigger, but IMO not that much. Still not that big of a guy.

I think I would be larger than that if I cut down, but I would have to cut a lot. I am 5’10" @218 lbs. I would guess around 18-22 BF% based on what others have said here. I would like to be about 200 lbs and under 15%.

To look like Pitt in Troy, I’d say you’d probably need to lose 12-15ish% BF, or roughly 30 pounds. Just guesses. I bet you’d look crazy at 190, though!

I agree with that assessment. At 190 lbs I would look crazy. That is pretty big for 5’10".

I think I would still look good at 202 lbs, and be able to drop to 198 lbs for powerlifting.

It is a balance. Pitt maybe would not look like he lifted with average cloths on. I don’t want to only look good on the beach. A guy with a lot of muscle looks pretty good at 15% at the beach, and a lot bigger with cloths on than a guy with similar genetics that dieted down to 8% and lost some muscle with the cut.

Out of curiosity, were you a thin kid, chubby kid, or neither? Most guys I’ve seen with your mentality were thinner as kids. I was on the other side, so I have a different perspective.

Yeah, no doubt you’d be jacked at 202. 190 would be bodybuilding level.

BUT is that actually happening on TRT. Our test is stabilized so what if any muscle loss will there be with a moderate hypo-caloric diet? I am assuming the TRT is protective of LBM.

No doubt it is. Also depends on how much protein you consume. When I dieted down last year and lost about 20 lbs., I don’t think I lost any LBM. I was on a high TRT dose, like now (pushing 300).

Growing up I had kinda an athletic build I guess (I think I was about 155-160 in HS at 5’10"). I went to a small (16 people in my class) private school so hard to compare. All the male students took a lifting class. I was in the top 1 or 2 for strength in my class (out of 8 so no big deal). I now am exposed to a much larger gene pool with the PLing gym and I would put my genetics at a bit above average.

At 190lbs I think I would lose a lot of muscle. It is hard to predict until you do it. I did cut to 185 ish about 4 years back and looked good, had a 4 pack. At that point I did not realize I had low T (or maybe I didn’t have low T). I have more muscle than I did pre cut then by a fair amount. Not sure.

I’ll post a picture if I get close to 200 lbs.
