Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

Well I do the whole egg more to make it more pallet-able but the fats ok too. I usually train at lunch so three hours or so after eating. Sometimes I’ll have a snack first. But I don’t like training if I feel full at all. I rarely run out of steam so the energy thing isn’t much of an issue. Then I have a shake right afterwards and a meal maybe 30 minutes later

I started with 1/3ml syringes and when I ran out all they had was 1ml. I didn’t think it would affect anything but maybe being a little harder to be precise with measuring. Those damn things pissed me off because they were so much harder to draw and inject with.

Final numbers are in @bkb333 and I’m a little surprised by them to be honest. For recap:

Jun = 40mg EOD (140mg a week)
Nov = 42mg EOD (147mg a week)
Jan = 22mg Daily (154mg a week)

Not a drastic increase in dose by any means, but the numbers are interesting for sure. All numbers here:

It’s very interesting to see that on my EOD protocol, with the influx of more test, it seemed to have driven my SHBG lower…but my E2 wasn’t drastically higher as a result of low SHBG.

But, looking at Daily, my SHBG increased, TT and FT reverted back to a number similar to 40mg EOD and my E2 has jumped to the highest it’s been.

Some thoughts on these - times to peak and when I had my blood drawn could have an impact on those numbers. Maybe most recently my test hadn’t peaked while E2 was still elevated? And with EOD, E2 had a chance to subside where as daily it doesn’t?

Either way, these numbers kind of confirm my feelings on daily vs EOD in that things are different that EOD for sure, not worse, but different. I don’t feel the test buzz like I used to (probably because increased SHBG?). My energy isn’t as abundant either, but again… Not worse, just not as intense. Performance in the bedroom has improved (because of my increase in E2 and a better weighted ratio?).

Thanks again for letting me post these here.

It’s hard to draw many conclusions because to be honest, these numbers are still pretty similar. When you account for test-to-test variability and different blood draw times, nothing looks all that different. My numbers fluctuate dramatically when things change.

HGB and HCT are nothing to worry about right now. It is interesting that Total T and Free T dropped, but like you said, that probably corresponds to the SHBG increase.

The changes in SHBG and E are what I find most interesting here. As your dose has elevated, SHBG and E have as well. For me, an increase in dose has led to elevated E, but not SHBG (but I also had Danazol in the mix for some of that time).

How was your libido in June 2019? I would guess this higher E is why your bedroom performance has improved, like you said. I’m not sure about the sense of well-being…but could be residual from the SHBG increase. I definitely wouldn’t worry about lowering SHBG. Your number is good. It’s better to be where you are than too low. Don’t play around with Danazol :slight_smile:

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

I had to dig into the Tnation archives to answer this question and I found that I was horny as hell…haha. this also corresponds to the time where I’d been on Armour Thyroid for about 3-4 months… I think improved thyroid is also helping. see below:

"Had a deeper conversation with the wife on 6/7 (2019) about a few things and wham… We’ve had sex every single day since, 14 days in a row, sometimes twice a day… Once in the morning, once at night.

There are a couple of times I couldn’t finish for the life of me… But I’m not complaining"

You make good points that the numbers aren’t drastically different… And that’s a reminder to myself to just knock it off… I’m not trying to land the space shuttle, this isn’t rocket science.

At least this exercise has helped me to understand more what different doses and frequencies could do for how I feel, etc… And it’s also good to know at least my TT on this dose going into my doctor’s appointment in April.

Thanks again!

It’s likely that your levels fluctuate that much over the course of time. I know when I went from EOD to daily it took months before my libido was consistently good.

Thanks @dextermorgan for the reply, appreciate it. I’m actually feeling pretty good… aside from not feeling the test buzz like I used to, I’m enjoying daily.

Only reason I visited a urologist 2+ years agi was for ED. Don’t want to jinx it, but I’ve had 0 real issues since going daily, where I did have some issues EOD. Could be in my head, don’t know… But I’m rolling with it.

I’m staying the course until my Dr appointment in April. I might miss my shots the two days leading up to the appointment so he doesn’t totally freak out…but after that, I’m increasing my daily dose for sure.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

How’d the change affect your SHBG? That’s what I find most interesting about the changes for @bcostigan41

Matter of personal opinion, but I’d say keep everything business as usual before the appointment. My levels will probably be absurdly high but I’d rather have my provider getting an accurate synopsis of what’s happening in my body.

Dude no one is looking at those pics and saying “look at those love handles”. You look like a gladiator.

Very interesting indeed. Only thing I can think of is 22mg at once is less than 42mg at once…and SHBG isn’t suppressed as fast as I clear out to 22mg?

I’ve historically had SHBG around 31-38…all before starting armour thyroid and on 50mg E3.5 days (100 a week) and 17mg EOD (120 a week). Most of the time, my TT was in the 600s too.

I increased my dose to 20mg EOD (140) and started armour - 4 months later is those June 19 numbers.

Crazy how this all works together.

You are probably right to leave it as is. Last bloods with the doc had me at 1080 and he was fine. He said the number should probably be lower, but is “okay” because of the pharmakenetics…and drew me some waves on a white board to demonstrate.

I’ll leave it. See what happens, but be sure to tell him I feel great.

I never checked SHBG but the one time while on daily and it was 39.9

Lol thanks brother

I mean fuck you because Ive been training my ass off for 18 years (2 under TRT) and I don’t look half as good as you do. :slight_smile:

Lol I’ve done Athleanx for two years. I finally have the mindset to take it to the next level and start learning about training. With Athleanx you just watch his video while you’re working out and do whatever he does. Your profile pick looks pretty fucking jacked dude. I’d kill for forearms like that. Women love forearms.

Seriously, those before and after pictures are impressive. Complete and total transformation. Nice job dude.

I’m 35 days into AX-1…how come I don’t look like you yet @dextermorgan?? :joy:

I’m really enjoying the program, good shit.

AthleanX? Fuck you dude…you look like a fucking strongman competitor. Where is your FT again? LOL.

I appreciate the kind words. I don’t know what you’re starting point is but if you look at mine I’m sure it can’t be worse than that so you’ll be there sooner than you think especially if you eat a fuck ton of food.

Not in range lol
