Real Life

The other day I watching his fantastic piece of fine filemmaking while flipping through channels. It stars everybodies favorite,Ah-nuld. As I was watching,I was thinking;“I wonder if it would be acceptable or even moral to actually bring this idea to the masses?”

Now lets say we through Human Rights and the Red Tape out of the window,States funded a big colosseum in the middle of major cities in America,It was free entertainment for people to watch,It was televised, and prisoners fought. Wearing plates of armor and provided with stabbing weapons sucha s short swords and axes and a few clubs such as a sledgehammer,

Would you watch? To be honest,If it were prisoners fighting for their lives,I would mind. Id watch. Throw a couple of Lions and Tiger in there and we`d have great weekend nights.

I’m not ready to throw human rights and “red tape” out the window for my entertainment or even for the entertainment of the unwashed masses.

If anything, doing this would further support human rights. If a bunch of guys feel like fighting to the death, why the fuck shouldn’t they be able to?

Um…I think the Romans were famous for this already. I even think they added viscious beasts to the events too. It was a decadent affair for all.

Oh, that’s right, they were called gladiators.

Interesting question. Unfortunately I believe it would the #1 show in the country by a landslide (if it was not low-budget). It would have to be on HBO or something. I would not watch, but there are enough people who fit in the lowest common denominator demographic that would watch religiously.

I’m not for fighting to the death. That’s not something I want to see.

Apart from that, how would this be different from the UFC but with more guys in the ring at the time?

Correct me if I’m wrong… But… Aren’t you the guy who started a thread asking whether one could be a Christian while also a fighter? Assuming that’s the case, WTF?

Fuck you got me! I guess it is a bit hypocritical but remeber,I did state that these guys would be criminals fighting for their lives. In my eyes they arent even human anymore. They murdered,Raped, and robbed from their fellow brothers. Ironically,Im totally againts dogs fighting.

We could put Christians in there. With lions.

How big a stick of gum do you have to steal to be eligible for the death penalty? Just curious.

How is that irony?

So this would be like the movie Gladiator in real life, right? Am I understanding your concept correctly?

Lame. You lose your humanity for committing a crime? Sorry, they’re still human, and should be treated as such, no matter what they’ve done. I’m not going to lower myself to their level.

Also, I sincerely doubt most of the people who say they would watch this have ever seen this type of dismembering violence for real, it’s not something you sit around on the couch with your buddies to see while you drink beer.

Would you please me the passage wherein Christ said that criminals are no longer human and, as such, deserve inhumane treatment?

When he says that every jot and tittle of the old testament still counts.

Additionally, it isn’t like anyone has EVER been jailed even though they were innocent.

Apparently, there are quite a few people who completely write off human beings (as being anything close to as “human” as them) based on jail time.

I guess those 200 people (as if that is all there truly are) would be up for grabs as well.

Christianity is getting pretty loose these days.

It’s in the director’s cut. Soon to be delivered to you by a man on a white horse.

I think the point of the OP was that they are prisoners and don’t ahve a choice. I don’t think they would be volunteering unless they were getting paid handsomely for a victory.

Or better yet, do like the Romans did and throw the self-rightous christians in there.
