Read about me and my killer

another one for the nation…

Hello My name is Mary Jo Kopechne.
I would have been 65 years of age this year. Read about me and my killer below.

When Sen. Ted Kennedy was merely just another Democrat bloating on Capitol Hill on behalf of liberal causes, it was perhaps excusable to ignore his deplorable past.

But now that he’s become Sen. John Kerry’s leading campaign attack dog,
positioning himself as Washington’s leading arbiter of truth and integrity,
the days for such indulgence are now over.

It’s time for the GOP to stand up and remind America why Sen. Kerry’s chief spokesman had to abandon his own presidential bid in 1980 - time to say
the words Mary Jo Kopechne out loud.

As is often the case, Republicans have deluded themselves into thinking that most Americans already know the story of how this “Conscience of the Democratic Party” left Miss Kopechne behind to die in the waters underneath the Edgartown Bridge in July 1969, after a night of drinking and partying with the young blonde campaign worker. But most Americans under 40 have never heard that story, or details of how Kennedy swam to safety, then tried to get his cousin Joe Garghan to say he was behind the wheel.

Those young voters don’t know how Miss Kopechne, trapped inside Kennedy’s
Oldsmobile, gasped for air until she finally died, while the Democrats’
leading Iraq war critic rushed back to his compound to formulate the best
alibi he could think of.

Neither does Generation X know how Kennedy was thrown out of Harvard on
his ear 15 years earlier – for paying a fellow student to take his Spanish
final. Or why the US Army denied him a commission because he cheated on tests.

As they listen to the Democrats’ “Liberal Lion” accuse President Bush of
“telling lie after lie after lie” to get America to go to war in Iraq, young
voters don’t know about that notorious 1991 Easter weekend in Palm Beach,
when Uncle Teddy rounded up his nephews for a night on the town, an evening that ended with one of them credibly accused of rape.

It’s time for Republicans to state unabashedly that they will no longer
“go along with the gag” when it comes to Uncle Ted’s rants about deception and
moral turpitude inside the Bush White House. And if the Republicans
don’t, let’s do it ourselves by passing this forgotten disgrace around the
Internet to wake up memories of what a fraud and fake Teddy really is.

The Democratic Party, not to mention Sen. John Kerry, should be ashamed to
have the national disgrace from Massachusetts as their spokesman. And the GOP needs to say so out loud. I remember all of this and I’m sure most of you do, too.

(Rolls eyes)

Great… another neocon who’s not bright enough to take us on using issues and logic, but instead quotes radical right wing articles to support a belief he is not smart enough to defend.

I know why all y’all looove G Dubya like you do. He is an anti-intellectual… He is just like you and he’s your hero!

Warrior Spirit, I will be much more motivated to read and comment on your posts when they reflect your actual thoughts, rather than someone else’s written for you.

Hey, I just thought it would make for interesting conversation. I’d love to comment, but I’m afraid I’m just not bright enough to…

Perhaps we can just divide the issues and be done with it.

The senators actions (whatever they were) do not prove or disprove the statements he currently makes.

If the voters feel the senator is not suitable for the position, they have every right to quit voting for him.

Anything else worth considering?

Hey, I was just participating in the greatest national past-time…mudslinging…its not as much fun when it comes from the other side, is it? You made some valid points though. However, I do feel we should take into consideration someone’s character outside of the political arena. And you are right, if the voters don’t believe he is suitable for the position they can stop voting for him. However, the point of the email was that many people are not aware of this.

Sorry, I must have missed it - is Ted Kennedy running for President?

Ted’s a good guy totally changed. Definitely not a drunk prick. Definitely. I think they’re building his grave right now in Boston. Haven’t they been building it for like fifty years?

This is the sort of post that we get because liberals attack President Bush (and others) personally.

I am tired of it from both sides!

Let’s argue the issues and leave the personalities out of it!

Here’s what’s great about the USA.

Moronic crap like this post will be cancelled out by moronic crap on the Left, and the rest of us can get on with business of discussing the issues.

Okay, off topic, but perhaps more interesting. Isn’t Kierkegaard the philosopher who helped launch the whole existential school of philosophy? He believed that there really was no objective truth and that reality was subjective. Although he had some great ideas, there is a basic logical flaw to the subjective reality theory. Let’s say good ol’ Soren is getting attacked by a vicious dog…so he closes his eyes and thinks real hard, “I don’t believe this dog exists.” Guess what? He’ll soon realize that truth is real whether he believes it or not.

Sorry to get sidetracked there…now let’s get back to bashing liberals…

Maybe you could create or participate in a thread that people are interested in instead of bumping this turdball?

Its ironic that some have commented on the lack of logic being used when the the responses of the some of you making these comments are riddled with logical fallacies. Three in one sentence from one individual. I refrain myself from giving names but I do so for this reason; these arguments which slant either left or right are done so out of purely emotive resons. Why even argue that the moral integrity of an individual is even remotely pertinent to the topic about political issues. He could be wrong in every aspect of life and yet be an amazing politician.

Politics in general do nothing more than raise a debate which will never meet equal grounds based on the lack of understanding of logic in the public. Emotions can not be argued since they are purely subjective nor can be proved. If you begin to attack the integrity of anyone concerning the topic at hand you expose the weakness of your own thought.

The quote by Kierkergaard was aptly written. About the response to His illogical philosophy, please know that Kierkergaard was a Christian existentialist which is far different than the existentialism of Sarte or Niezche. Kierkergaard believed in one absolute objective truth and that being God. The others believe in no absolute truth. So lets please begin to research our ideas before posting them so flippantly in a public site. If any of you are so concerned with ascertaining truth than by all means, do so while leaving your emotions checked for proper relocation. They have no place in logic or adademia. Nobody cares about what you feel, the issue at hand has no response to animate emotion

Do you realize that by responding, you just accomplished the same thing?

musclebandit,
I do realize kierkegard was a christian existentialist (I’ve done some research on the subject…I’ll probably be entering seminary next year…)

Other than that, I think you’ve made valid points. We are, by nature, creatures of emotion and logic. Often we let our emotions win and then try to use logic to back them up. I’ll shut up about this subject now. Besides, these political threads are really taking time off of why I’m at T-mag in the first place.

Warrior Spirit,
That is pretty cool the you are going to seminary next year. I am a theology student myself. The thread you originally wrote did spark a great deal of contraversy. You were quite diplomatic and non-confrontational which has been quite rare around these parts concerning individuals entertaining different political views and having no desire to support personal belief with a proper deductive argument. Well done This is a great site for what is was inteded to do and that is educating oneself for bettering their physique. Happy hunting in your road to seminary

Gee, for a second I thought this thread was about Laura Bush and how she killed her ex-boyfriend in a car crash when she was 17.

“When Laura Bush was 17, she was involved in a fatal accident, driving through a stop sign and hitting a car operated by a high school friend. He died. She refers to it as ‘‘a very tragic time in my life.’’ No charges were brought. (The question always looms why she was not charged with vehicular manslaughter since the “friend” was her boyfriend who may have just dumped her.) She slammed into the SIDE of his vehicle at an intersection where some claim she was laying in wait. The police reports on the matter are censored and vary from a cloudy rainy night to a clear dark night. The much doctored police report and the reports of several Texas newspapers regarding the incident and the cover-up are found on the Internet.? Laura Bush claims that discussing the matter is too distressing - even after almost 40 years - and thus avoids any questions.”

Warrior, I bumped the thread by 15 minutes as opposed to your bump of one day… there is a difference there bub.

So, yes, nice bump by telling me I bumped it (minimally) too… and yes, I checked, the last post was again a few minutes ago… so don’t harp on me for bumping the turdball.

Lumpy, it’s not completely surprising to me that you would place a quote on T-mag from undelete.org: “The Oldest and Largest HERSTORY Site on the Internet”.

Well, guess that will keep the hubby loyal won’t it?
