Raw Whey

So I was at the state fair a few days ago and in the barn was this cow with a sign that basically said that you could buy milk from the guy who owned the cow and the dairy farm where the cow lives. Anyway, It also mentioned that they use the whey from the milk to make other dairy products (don’t really know how since whey is a byproduct of the cheese making process). I was wondering if it would be a good idea to maybe look into getting the whey from this farmer as apposed to just buying protein powders. What do you guys think?

Just suck the milk directly from the cow…I was told it’s really sweet.

The whey you use now and the whey, that is a byproduct in the cheese makin’ process are quite different. The one we use, is made from the second one, but it is processed in such manner, that only protein and a small portion of carbs and fats remain in it. Raw whey has different amounts of macronutrients - lots of carbs, …

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info, So basically it has a higher carb and fat to protein ratio. Would it make a good weight gainer?

Should be alot cheaper if you buy direct. Just ask the cows owner they must have details if I was in your situation i’d probaly buy direct by the kilos and sell on for a tidy profit.
