Hehe. We walked past the event at the fair and the boy said, “Daddy, I’m doing that. Today.” And that was it, there was no talking him out of it. I think he got 5th out of 40, most dumped 2 to 3 feet out of the gate. And he didn’t even flinch when it was time to load into the chute. I was pretty damn proud of him.

5’s day, deads.

Deads: 45 x15, 135 x5, 225 x5, 275 x5, 325 x5, 375 x5 ,5 ,5, 5 (all touch and go), 375 x5 (full reset).

Zerchers (from one pin above parallel): 135 x5, 225 x5, 275 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1.

Notes: The whole family is sick, and I’m no exception. I got a sore throat walking into the gym and started sweating before my first set of deads. I took my time and got through it, this was a pretty tough day all things considered.

Nice work on the deads and the zerchers. Like the volume on the deads.

Incline DB Bench: 65s x10, 80 x10, 100 x3, 75 x6.

Fingers Back Plank: 1 min.

Notes: Still sick, did this. Krock rows did me in but I’m on a mission to get to 50 reps. I wanted to get 5 x 5 on bench, but was close to failure on the 5th set, so i settled for 4 on the last set.

Front Squats: 135 x5, 185 x3, 225 x1, 275 x1, 305 x no bueno.

Notes: This doesn’t look like much on paper, but it wiped me out. I took the last set extra deep, especially the last rep of the last set, and almost missed it. It was a grinder. I unracked 305 on the FS but by this time I was spent and just took a negative to the pins. I destroyed a box of costco mini cinnamon rolls on the way home now I’m going to mow through a few pounds of marinated chicken thighs.
