. Salmonellosis is an infection caused by the bacteria Salmonella. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), salmonellosis causes an estimated 1.4 million cases of foodborne illness and more than 500 deaths annually in the United States. The Surveillance Report from the Food Diseases Active Surveillance (FoodNet) for 2004, identified Salmonella as the most common bacterial infection reported. (42% Salmonella, 37% Campylobacter, 15% Shigella, 2.6% E. coli O157:H7, and 3.4% others such as Yersinia, Listeria, and Vibrio).
so what?
is our cases of salmonella more deadly than other countries?
countries that do not have a stringent control of their food like we do.
I really believe that with the advoidance of bacteria and viruses, things in the world that are all over, we are not building up our immune systems against these basic things and in turn a simple flu bug will kill you.
its stupid stop being so scared of nothing.

Research found salmonella in 1 of 10000 eggs. Chances are low. On top of that, the chance of salmonella killing a young healthy adult is rare. Most of the deaths are elderly and children. People with instances of previously lowered immune systems. Try googling this shit first before you spout of stories of horror and death.

In UK we do not store eggs in the fridge in our supermarkets, I do put them in the fridge when I get home though.
For those who do not know about Biotin deficiency
Biotin deficiency is a rare nutritional disorder which can become serious, even fatal, if allowed to progress untreated. It can occur in people of any age, ancestry, or gender.
Biotin deficiency rarely occurs among healthy people, since the daily requirement of biotin is low, many foods provide adequate amounts of it, intestinal bacteria synthesize small amounts of it, and the body effectively scavenges and recycles it from bodily waste. However, deficiencies can be caused by consuming raw egg whites over a period of months to years. Egg whites contain high levels of avidin, a protein that binds biotin strongly. When cooked, avidin is denatured and becomes entirely non-toxic.
[edit] Symptoms
Initial symptoms of biotin deficiency include:
If left untreated, neurological symptoms can develop, including:
