Last night I was a little low on my fat/carb/protein ratio. In fact I was almost 33% of each (because I went and had a few beers, not a regular occurrence). I was already at about 2200-2400 kcals for today (didn’t work out so that is my maintenance reqs) I wanted to get more protein so I went out to my local 24/7 grocery store and picked up a bunch of chicken strips and chicken salad (checked the nutrition facts). I ended up eating about 500kcal and boosting my protein levels to 38%
I am trying to build strength while losing fat, so I know I need to have better ratios, but was it ok to eat more to get those ratios or should I have just let it go for the day?
It’s a DAY and ratios don’t count as much as total caloric amount and total protein amount.

It’s really more important what, how much, and the consistency of what you put in your mouth. The ratios really aren’t that big of a deal at least for someone who isn’t at competition level.
I’ve ate relatively balanced diet (between 33/33/33 p/f/c and 40/40/20 p/f/c) since January and during that time I lost 30lbs by decreasing the amount of food and have begun putting on weight at about 8lbs in the past 5 weeks with no issues by eating more food. I have begun to up carbs a little bit more since I’m probably about at my max fat range (80-110g) I want to intake.
