I dont know about anyone else, but since I work out an hour before the gym closes, I dont get all the retards there, but I do have to put up with another “retard” so to speak .
This person goes by the title of Floor Mopper. His job is to mop the entire weight room floor, while maneuvering around all of the people working out.
Now, on two different occasions this guy has rudely interrupted my workouts. Last week, I was benching, and while taking a rest (sitting on the end of the bench getting ready for another go) he tosses a floor mat onto the bench im sitting on so he can mop under it. While this normally wouldnt bother me, the asshole just leaves it there and moves on, and the MORE irritating part is that he looked right at me when he did it!
Guess what happened later that week? Doing deads in the squat rack, taking a break beside it with all the weight still racked on the bar, the guy decides to come in, start scraping gum off the floor, and leaves the scraper on top of my bar, then walks away…
I think this has got to be my biggest irritation in this gym ever, even more so than Mr. Ski Vest from the last rant.
Have you talked to the dude about it? Maybe he just doesn’t realize he’s being disrespectful? If you want him to stay away from you then tell him to, otherwise be quiet and let the man do his job.
I understand that is frustrating. I managed a health club for three years and would often have to tell my employees to be patient and wait for the members to finish up. Everyone was always in a hurry to get things cleaned up and go home. I’m assuming you don’t do this, but if your gym closes at say 9pm and you are trying to finish out at about 9:15pm you have no grounds for a rant. The minute the gym is set to close people need to be heading out. This can be very distracting while you are trying finish things out. It is also very rude because the gym employees have lives too and want to get things done so they can be with friends and family. In your case it sounds like the guy is probably just a dueche bag. Next time he does it, chalk up the area of the floor he just cleaned.
