Rant Aussie's Will Understand

My favorite is when you can be walking down the street without even looking at them and they will say “What are you looking at, you racist white dawg!” Locales change though few aboriginals do.

Although having grown up in the bush i can say that i have known a few that were really great people and they will tell you that their peers’ are the reason why they hardly ever get a fair go.

Aboriginals start on a back foot as far as first impressions go, although there are some that show that they are really terrific people and do great things for their community.

Now mainly in Australia these ‘people’ choose too speak with no correct grammar

now i do apologize for my lack of grammar and a couple of spelling errors, but does this only go on in Melbourne, Australia or is anyone else out there dealing with the same bullshit??

If I read your post and didn’t know anything about Australia I would assume English is the second language…

Seems a few other Aussies have chimed in already, just thought I’d put this out there.

In no way am I saying there are not racist people in Australia, but personally, within my group of friends and stuff, the whole race card is just a big joke. We can all have a jab, within reason, and it’s all seen as light hearted. Of course, context is important, as well as respect for others. I don’t go cracking Asian jokes the minute I meet someone at Uni.

As far as Aboriginals go, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t line up stereotypes / judge before even speaking to them. However if they don’t act like retards etc, it doesn’t even matter. When they get their bogan on, I don’t think of them in specific terms of ‘those bloody indigenous people’ but more in the negative light I tend to associate with bogans in general. I’ve had/have Aboriginal friends and I’m sure a great deal of them are fantastic people, however as with most things the light seems to shine brightest on the negatives.

To the OP, I don’t really encounter it much as I tend to keep to myself travelling etc, but I can understand your frustration with the unwanted and aggressive attention. To be honest I don’t even have any advice on how to deal with it, they’re not worth a response just ignore them.

Interesting thread.

I live in sydney and i know the kind of mount druit “muzza’s” you are referring to.

As a country made up almost solely of migrants racial violence is always gonna happen. People need to learn to get over it. Cronulla riots was such BS. Im italian and greek and i shudder to think that some muzza would have attacked my car just for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

interesting to see how many Aussies we have on the forum too.

so true

Yup , i’m an Ozzie too ! Agreed , the press coverage of the riots was BS . I’ve been called racist plenty of times too , funny enough , my wife is from Hong Kong , my best friends are from Russia , Morroco , Serbia and Greece as well as Oz . I agree that most of the problems suffered by aboriginals are by their own design and that you can classify some people by their appearance . It’s a bit like calling a junkie a junkie , people don’t like it when you point out theey belong to one of those groups . The biggest objectors to this are those that NEVER encounter the problems and those that fit squarly in the groups . Funnny that !

This thread is pretty amusing, but also speaks the truth. The idiots portrayed in the first post all deserved to be stabbed in the neck.

I live in Brisbane and we don’t have that “muzza” subculture here.

But I drive a Commodore and listen to tekkers, nothing wrong with that. :stuck_out_tongue:
