Random Drug Testing

So there’s this sign hanging outside someone’s cubicle at work. It says to provide a safer workplace they are going to start random drug testing. I think its someone’s idea of a April Fool’s joke. This is the only notification we have gotten about it. 1 sign on a random wall in the office. If there’s a joke here, I dont get it but oh well.

But if they did start it here - It’s a graphic design/advertising company that employs mostly young people straight from art school. We would lose about half of the work force.
The other thing that could actually be cool for me is maybe I could sell clean samples. I havent even drank alcohol in about two years. Could be profitable.

i think in most peoples employee contacts there is some fine print that you can be subject to random drug testing at any time anyway. my guess is that its a joke - how creative can you be in a sober advertising firm anyway?

This was in my bar association newsletter this month.

I think the joke is that half of the workforce (the junkies) will start to fret and get all uppity about their being drug tests and thus they have revealed themselves and then we can laugh…

I really don’t know how an individual private company can afford to drug test their employees. It’s expensive.

I know that the organization I belong to has to give you advance notice as well as a description of what drugs are tested during their process.

Start storing cups of urine in the break room fridge. That ought to put an end to it.

Make sure to put some of the highlighter ink in one then shine a black light on it and be like oh look at that one. I wonder what he’s on.

Why shouldn’t people be able to do drugs during their personal time? Smoking some weed is considered immoral in this society, yet drinking yourself sick on the weekend to forget about the stresses of work is considered a normal and acceptable American passtime. Those people aren’t seen as “junkies” at all.

You’re right, they’re alcoholics. Which isn’t looked down on at all.

Not as exspensive as some think. I worked for a drug testing company during college. We could do a 5 panel immunoassay for a total cost of about $17 per person (50+ employees). This included us pulling up in our brand new RV and having everyone come in to our RV bathroom for a test sample.
