angelina jolie used to be a better actor like 10 years ago

i cant wait till im like 40 and all weathered and stubbly and badass looking, i hear this alot but i think women get uglier with age, and men get better looking

Stallone looks like shit.

Just sayin’

Have you seen Mickey Roarke lately? They had to cake on the make-up to make him handsome enough to play Marv in Sin City. Stallone looks like an Ambercrombie model by comparison.
Bujo wrote:
The problem is that the “action star” has passed on. Movie stars today want to be well rounded to avoid being type cast. You could say Stallone and Arnold tried to do the same with movies like “Oscar” and “Jingle all the Way”
hahaha @ oscar and “well-rounded”
Bujo wrote:
On a side note Stallone and Willis look a lot meaner in there 50s and 60s than in their 30s. Watch the first and last rocky films, and the first and last Die Hard films. Then come back and say they aren’t more imposing in their later years.
I agree…Bruce Willis is more intimidating now than he was back during his “Moonlighting” days. Clint as well (up to a point, about 10 years ago).

I fully agree with the rest of you that somebody with thick body like Stan McQuay needs to step up and fill the roll of the larger than life bad ass. Conan, Beowulf, Thor, Colossus all need someone with some serious mass. Muscle suits and CGI aren’t going to cut it forever.

I personally think that Hulk, with it’s shitty shitty script, still would have been twice as good if they would have painted up a bodybuilder old-school green.

The hulk wasn’t as terrible as it was made out to be, I’d rather watch Eric Bana in the hulk than Spiderman 3 or X-Men 3 - They were both fucking terrible.

I reckon Bales gonna be the next big badass, maybe not exclusively but he’s a pretty great actor(First person to do Batman justice is quite a while) and like somebody already said, he’s gonna get scarier with age.

Still love Sly though, when we all get sick of deep, family friendly films I hope he’s still there to toss some action our way.

He rips a mans throat out with his bare hands in the trailer! Awesome!

I love Eric Bana. Even after reading the Odyssey back in high school, I was rooting for him to chop the goldilocks off of pretty boy Brad Pitt in Troy.

But please keep in mind that the first big money fight scene between our hero, the CGI-shrek-looking Hulk, was against a IRRADIATED GIANT POODLE.

p.s. the final fight scene was against his dad…who was made of a metal table, or lightening or something…wait, make that magic lightening that could also teleport the Hulk and turn a lake into ice or something…

It’s like Nick Nolte had the powers of the suckiest bottom four members of the Superfriend’s Legion of Doom.

Patrick Swayze did it in Roadhouse.

If Sly had posted his pics in the picture forum from when he was younger, you all would have yelled at him to stop worrying about his abs and go eat something.

There are mini-Sly’s everywhere now. They are “all up in” the clubs and in corporate gym chains.

When something goes from being a rarity to widespread, it loses any value it may have had.

And the above pic is why he should be using makeup in his latest films.

Found this pic of Sly and Kevin Levrone. Question is, why is Stallone taller? Levrone is supposed to be like 5’10.

I saw the official trailer at the movies tonight… A little disappointed. Basically it’s just split second flashes of scenes with his voice over at the end, sounded a little cheesy. I hope it’s good.

stalone loks like a cheese bag here.

levrone looks only 180 pounds.

damn
He lost like 100 lbs. of muscle to break into acting.

Were you not aware?

Stallowned

I agree with you on this…sly never bulked up and then got ripped…he seems to gain lean mass…kind of like haney and leverone…

not sure what you mean here? mini slys?

I think he is 60 or 61…you want him not to age? this is a recent pic…looks normal to me…even better than normal…

when I stood next to him he seemed to be about 5’10"…not sure how tall levrone is…but if he is 5’10" also then sly is on something or it was taken at a wierd angle…

I like the rambo movies better than the rocky movies…

when I saw the rocky balbo trailer it was awesome and made me want to see the movie…

I can not say the same thing about the rambo 4 trailer… it seems to be gore fest and not what I remember rambo to be like…I hope they are doing that just to get all the teens to watch it…

rocky balbo trailer - YouTube

rambo 1 trailer - YouTube

rambo 2 trailer - YouTube

rambo 3 trailer - YouTube

rambo 4 trailer - YouTube

rambo 4 teaser (I actually like this one better than the rambo 4 trailer) - YouTube

Eh, his mass came with age. That’s all it is. I think it’s a common phenomenon for people who have difficulty putting on weight in their younger years to naturally bulk up when they get older. So much for the school of thought that has people yelling at teens to “bulk now or you’ll be skinny forever”. You might as well be thin when you’re young, because practically EVERYBODY puts on the weight as the years go by. Truth.

All I’m saying is that there are plenty of young people these days who look as good, or better than he did, and they’re not getting their asses kissed for it. More often, they’re made fun of on boards such as this one.

He looks good there but I’ve seen a bunch where he really looked like crap.

I was actually pretty impressed with Matthew McConaughey in Reign of Fire. He played the battleaxe wielding American dragon hunter.

Sounds like a T role to me.

Then he had to go and ruin the image by starring in a slew of bad romantic comedies.

I had to bump this thread, due to a conversation I had with a friend who can’t wait to see this movie. I asked him if he thought it was sad that we don’t have an “action” star today. Without missing a beat, he said Will Smith. At first I completely dismissed the idea, but as he rattled off movie after movie, I realized he had a compelling arguement. What do you guys think? Is Will Smith today’s “action” star?
