I’ll be the pitbull.
Not enough jaw strength or teeth.

However, having meatheads in cardiovascular shape is good for dragging dead hogs.

Gun, sidearm, knife, bible.

I’d even come to Austria to do it. No kidding.
Push, another place that does this is Florida. If you look on the map of Fl just north of Lake Okeechobee along Hwy 70&95 is a town called Fort Pierce. You can hog hunt one day and go salt water fishing the next. I grew up there and can put you in touch with the right people if you’d like. Sorry, but I moved to NC last year so I can’t extend an invite.

Back to the OP. Like others have said, its really about socializing the animal. Also, consider adopting/rescuing a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. They are a little smaller than a pit(30-40lbs) and have great qualities that I think you may be looking for. Heres a link if you’re unfamiliar with them; there’s also a section on “inter-dog aggression” The Staffie.(Staffordshire Bull Terrier) Devil Dog or Nanny Dog. You decide after reading the facts!

Pit is still probably a top 3 option for me at this point but ive just discovered there is a no-kill shelter about 40 minutes from me that took in 9 boxer mix pups yesterday, 2 months old. Saved the from a kill shelter in Kentucky. Adoption fees are $300 and they do all the first vaccinations, microchipping and start the dog on a heartworm regimen. Waiting to make sure my landlord will allow a third dog and then going to fill out the app. If all goes well, i may be getting a nice brindle coat boxer.

I wasnt really considering a rescue but checking out the website and reading about what they do, if i can support them, give a dog in need a comfy home and some friends to play with all day, and still be able to get a breed i want and raise from a puppy, then ill consider that a damn good deal.

If that falls through ill probably be going APBT.

Great news! I wish you luck and hope it works out.

I hope this works out for you. Tell the shelter you want to try the dog out and ask if you can bring him back if it doesn’t work out. I have a feeling you will know inside a day. If it works out, great! If not, you tried and it was not to be.

Sorry if your post ended up slightly hijacked with other members dogs but it did provide for much entertainment. Guys love their dogs. In some parts, you will get messed up less fooling around with a guys wife then kicking his dog.

PLEASE post a pic if and when you get him!

The shelter will allow you to return the dog immediately within 7 days of adoption. Any time after that you have to fill out a request form or some shit to return the dog.

If/when i get the dog i will definitely throw up some pics

I worked in an animal shelter for a good while taking care of the dogs. 90+% of them were pitts of some variety. Never had an issue with a pitt being aggressive. We had an Akita that came in and bit three people, including myself, in a week. That’s the only dog I ever saw put down there.

Any pit that is human aggressive is out of temperament and characteristic of the breed. Even the dogs used to fight are usually very human friendly just not so much with other animals.

I can’t attest to the breed purity of the animal but I have seen pit bulls attack children and show extreme aggression towards people. Now are they any more aggressive than chows, poodles, and chihuahuas? Probably not, but more dangerous hell yes.

Lol yea, I have met some very sweet pitbulls. You know what dog I think is actually aggressive? Fucking chows man. I have never in my life met a chow that wasn’t a complete ornery bastard. I have no idea why people keep buying those damn dogs.

People keep them to bite other people. And Chinese and Mongolians ate them

In for more hating on chows.

Any dog can be this way. I have been to a few places where they were keeping large quantities of dogs attached to buried car axles via chains. We had no issue walking right up to them and taking them, but you could in no way get them within reach of other dogs. These dogs were abused, kept in shit conditions, and bred to fight, but still loved humans.

People just have to realize dogs just like humans are animals and can be dangerous.

Alternatively you can shoot them with a machine gun out of a helicopter.
I have done this and have plans to go again this year. If you like guns and shooting pests, you will be in fucking heaven.
I raise 2-3 pigs a year and as my avatar shows, I hunt and hunt hard. There is no easy way to kill an animal for me. Sometimes I wish it was like fishing, just throw them back but that’s the sport. They are all God’s creature and when I come up on even a swift kill, I feel bad. Maybe My E2 runs higher then most.
I know what you mean. If you don’t feel a little remorse, I think you might be a psychopath.

I try to always make the death quick and as painless as I can muster.
Yeah, totally agree here. Nothing makes me sicker than realizing I wounded an animal that is in for a long death.

Side note, My best friends brother in law shot this one about 5 miles from our house. He is 6’4" and a pretty big guy for a frame of reference. Weighed 700lbs.
