If God spoke to me again and said to do this, I would. That is the only circumstance in which this will ever happen.

I only accept a concept if I (1) subjectively experience the content, such as God speaking to me or (2) a concept is falsifiable and is rooted in perceptions.

Trib, seriously…I want you to imagine two cue balls. If I put these behind my back and then show them to you one at a time, you would not be able to distinguish between the two. Why?

Human beings form concepts by looking for differences and similarities between entities. So…how do you possess the concept of God? There’s only one God, right? How do knwo God? Has God spoken directly to you?
I’m gonna make you a promise. If you ARE one of His? You will NOT be telling Him what you will and will not accept. He will crown Himself King of your heart and King of your life and you WILL surrender to His dominion over everything you are and everything you have. AND… you will do it willingly, humbly, gratefully and lovingly. Your desire FOR and joy IN displaying His majesty and might will drive and define every day of the rest of your life. I further promise that you will NEVER ask me or anyone else ever again how we know.

Tempted to put up the Bert Stare pic again, but I won’t. I’m trying not to bash Christians but it sure is tempting. Instead…

My first inclination was to say “I doubt you are that important.”

But then I realized, even you are that important, a special snowflake to someone who — unlike me — apreciates every special snowflake.

Undoubtedly, God has spoken to you, and you blew Him off.

@HH… and, well, I guess anybody that cares to read.

I was not raised in a church-going household. I was not taught by tradition how to interpret Scripture. There was a long period of time when I didn’t believe.

But then came the death of my German grandmother, Lord rest her soul. She was a kind, loving, giving, church-going woman. Everyone that knew her loved her. She died a horrible death. She was diagnosed with cancer, had a bunch or organ tissue removed, got an infection due to the surgery, had some more tissue removed, the infection continued, and she finally passed away very much in pain.

I was angry. I was absolutely livid at God, even though I didn’t think I believed in him. And, though I didn’t think I believed, I prayed for the first time (I didn’t understand, at the time, that I was praying). When I asked Him the usual questions in those circumstances, I got an answer. It wasn’t a booming voice or anything like you see in movies. It was just a… I don’t know… a knowledge. Like an idea or an understanding that was pushed into my brain. It was just “TRUST ME”.

I struggled with it for a few days. It’s an odd thing to suddenly realize; “wait a minute! I believe in GOD???” But when I finally let go and trusted Him, my anger at her suffering let go of me.

I think people have forgotten how to listen to God. I think that because they are waiting for a voice from the sky or a message written in the clouds or whatever, they’ve forgotten that God is within. They’ve forgotten how how to pray from within, listen from within, and trust what’s within.

You got this in while I was typing. Almost prophetic.

God said: (1) “The Spirit” (2) “Vishnu” (3) “Go and adopt a child from China.”

So…this probably means I should become Hindu?

It actually occured to me that I am more following the will of God than all you gents put together. I travelled to the other side of this planet, spent $25,000, and adopted a child. All you guys do is go on here and bloviate about scriptures and how Jesus said this and no he didn’t…blah, blah, blah.

If you are genuine, get off your asses and make the world a better place. I got a kid out of a communist country that does forced abortions and kills little girls because girls ‘aren’t worth as much as boys’. But according to you people, I’m going to burn in hell because I don’t shout ‘Amen!’ and ‘Hosanna!’

Bunch of fucking hypocrites…‘Christians’……LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOL!

I was referring to thethirdruffian’s suggestion that you may have ignored God, right as I was posting about people forgetting how to listen to the spirit because they are focused on their external senses.

I absolutely did not mean anything judgmental at all.

At this point, I’m pretty sure one could make a formula to predict how long until any given PWO thread becomes about religion.

Some thing along the lines of; Days the thread has been active x the amount of posts Tirib makes in the thread + the amount of people who don’t agree with Tiribs religious views^2 (D x Tp + Td^2 = R).

If the amount is zero, you’re safe. If it’s one, the threads at risk and if you score two or higher, a religious debate is imminent.

The religious mindset engenders racism because it breaks the chain of reason. Skin color is NOT a defining characteristic but is a secondary one. Religion allows the person to admit concepts into his head that are irrational, ie break the chain.

Only when we have evolved can a truly non-racist society emerge. When religion goes away, so will racism.

I very much disagree with everything you just posted. Unless you make a distinction between faith and religion.

Jesus gave an open invitation to everyone in the world through his disciples.
I agree with HH statement and you have made the distinction . For him to do it would be redundant

I think Religions are the root to so much social discourse , I did not say God . I think Religions have surplanted Praying and acting pious for doing good things

For all your trolling, much respect for actually adopting and not being all talk.
You really don’t know a thing about Christianity dude. As commendable as that is (and it is) it has zero to do with your standing before he Lord. Also, you have no idea what the Christians on this board may or not do as far as showing love to the world. We do it for His glory after all. Gospel of Matthew ch. 6:1-4 ESV
1-Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2-Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3-But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4-so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Whether you let off your hot air in a church or online, there is no difference.

Yep. As I put it, religion is for men. God is for man.

Meaning: that the only meaningful relationship that a person can have is one-on-one with God. Using religion as an INTERMEDIARY between you and God seperates us from God.

No religion told me to adopt a child. I was orphaned as a child, it sucked, and God told me to make it so that there’s a kid who doesn’t have to live through that.

But I’m going to Hell because I’m not a Christian…LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

On what do you base any of your religious conclusions sir?

Actually, I agree with HH on this one. I read the Bible to understand, but I believed (without being taught by rote, and without the church’s influence) before I ever read the Scriptures.

I believe that just as Jesus taught among the sinners, Lucifer teaches among the saints.
