Racist Bullshit

Actually, I agree with HH on this one. I read the Bible to understand, but I believed (without being taught by rote, and without the church’s influence) before I ever read the Scriptures.

I believe that just as Jesus taught among the sinners, Lucifer teaches among the saints.
Now ya jist hadta to go n do that now too didn’t ya. It does however explain a lot. Like I say. Believe what you want. You continue attempting to tie it to Jesus at your own peril.

Yes, I wrote them. But, they are not my words.

False dichotomy. Do you think Christ only spoke a grand total of 15 pages in 3 years?

And interpreted using private interpretation. Congrats you made yourself your own Pope.

HH is already baptized.

@HH… and, well, I guess anybody that cares to read.

I was not raised in a church-going household. I was not taught by tradition how to interpret Scripture. There was a long period of time when I didn’t believe.
So, you admit to private interpretation.

If by ‘private interpretation’ you mean; I asked the Lord for guidance and understanding, read the Word, and understood by faith, as opposed to “man-made rules learned by rote?” or in KJV - “their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men”?

Well, then I guess you’re correct. But there is no Biblical warning about reading and asking the Spirit of the Lord to help you understand, now is there?

Please point me toward any other writings on the subject of the life an teachings of Christ. I am very eager to read it. If you have some legitimate information that I don’t, I’d like to see it. I can only base my understanding on what I have available to read.

BTW: You guys are using arguments that suggest that I am in some way agitated. I really am not. I am not being condescending or judgmental. I am not being sarcastic, and I have not personally attacked anyone.

This is true. My mother was Jewish but the aunt and uncle who raised me were Catholic.

A good dose of Catholicism when young will turn anyone with an IQ above room temperature into a atheist or deist/theist.

Sorry to say this but Catholicism has to be the most convoluted, egotistical, sexist, and power-hungry of all the religions.

Then again…not sorry.

Jay, sorry you have to live in Alabama.

Gotta agree with HH yet again. And if you go back and read the rules that Jesus set for the apostles (well, for all of us, really), and for the church by extension, and then compare that to what the church has done throughout history, you can see that their doctrine really hasn’t been all about Christ.

Oof. That’s harsh. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a flyer like that IRL, but I have definitely put up with a lot of racism from more than one ‘culture’ around here. Much more than I’ve experienced in other areas of the country.

I guess I don’t really have to live here. I have had job offers from elsewhere, but for my level of education and compared to the COL, I’d be a fool to leave.

Loaded question, no doubt. No matter. I’ll even answer in my own words, since you’re asking personally.

He is Lord and Savior, whose coming was foretold and proven through the Prophets; The scapegoat of humanity, the sacrificial Lamb that freed us from the bonds of sin.

I think people have forgotten how to listen to God. Blaspheme. This is what Buddhist believe basically, this is wholly against what Christ teaches us.

No, but there is a warning against private interpretation. You can read and ask the Holy Ghost all you want, doesn’t mean that you make a valid interpretation of scripture.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
The Fathers Know Best by Jimmy Akin
Jesus of Nazareth I & II by Cardinal Ratzinger

What about hearing?

Um…you do understand that doctrines and actions are two different things right?

I wonder if the President was invited to be the Keynote Speaker?

Mufasa
Probably not, but my church is 90-95% black and he wouldn’t be invited there either.

Luke 17:21

I’m sure you mean that it’s against what the church teaches. I know for certain that you don’t need a mediator to speak to the Lord. I also know that He doesn’t need a mediator to speak back to you. He doesn’t even need words.

I also know that you are to call no man ‘father’, for there is only one Father. Jesus said so.

I also know how the Lord tells us to pray, and it’s not on a street corner, in a cathedral, or in a booth with a priest listening.

I also know that one of the chief ‘heresies’ that the church fought so hard against was, in all likelihood, correct. I know that because it was predicted in the prophecies of Isaiah.

The church has decided what to include and what to leave out for centuries. It’s always been based on what’s best for the church rather than what’s best for the Church. One of the greatest tragedies of mankind has been the fact that churches of all denominations have behaved as businesses, refusing to preach the parts of the Word that are bad for their cash flow.

“Do as I say, and not as I do”

Yes. Completely.

Do you understand that your actions indicate your true doctrine?

The more I think about this, the more I shake my head. Whites only, cross-lighting ceremony, the excuse that they invite whites only because they’ve never been invited to black, Jewish, or Muslim events?

Makes me wish I could snap my fingers and change their skin tone. To green or something.
