Racial Sensitivity Gone Too Far

Are you serious? You want me to know what some nut job thinks? Probably not going to happen. But I have been around for a while, and have NEVER seen or heard JWP do or say anything that wasn’t directly tied to being black.

You are the one who brought him back up as if to say that you know what the man thinks. You do remember mentioning his name, right?

His little stunt is what started this thread. How does this keep escaping you?

You asked for a name. I figured you were at least as in tune with black community leaders in Texas as I am. I guess I figured wrong - or you wouldn’t keep asking me to prove what the dipshit thinks. I can only prove what he has done and said, but I am not going to go waste my day googling every little thing he has said. IF you want to know - you can go look for yourself.

I’ll respond to the rest later. Hell Boy II waits for no one, and I gotta go now if I want to get there on time.

I have already stated that I don’t care to even discuss the original topic. This thread would be nothing but jokes about Devil’s food cake if we stayed on that alone…when there really is a topic beneath it that could bring out something more elevated than “what’s wrong with black hole?”.

Also, save your money on Hell Boy and go see Hancock. That means the black guy instead of the red guy.

Fuck me, they’re both sold out - at least that’s what the recording said. Look’s like I’m going with the white guy in “Get Smart”.

I don’t care about the topic of the thread, either.

Here’s my point: You want to talk about something deeper than “black hole”, and I agree - but the guy who caused the uproar doesn’t seem to want to. He’s happy nit-picking a bunch of old white guys. Sadly, this is what passes for race relations these days.

Is that all there is to bitch about on a national level? Language? I’ll tell you right now, if that’s all the black leadership has to go on - you and every other black person interested in furthering the discussion are in a shit pile of trouble.

There’s been 40 years - not 30 - of trying to right the ship. Progress has been made, and according to your grandmother, by leaps and bounds. Who has done the majority of the the changing? White guys who are my age, and a little older.

I can tell you with a fairly high degree of certainty that we feel as though we have had to take the blame for 300 years worth of shit we had nothing to do with. Now you have this numb-nutted motherfucker telling us what we can and can’t say. Frustrating doesn’t touch the tip of the iceberg of describing how that feels.

I know shit ain’t perfect, but give me/us some fucking credit for having the balls to do what no other generation before us has even tried to do.

If it weren’t for “People like me” - you’d still be drinking from a different fountain.

Then why do you keep referring to black leadership as one person? You said there hasn’t been a real black leader since X, or MLK. Sounds like you are looking for a Jesus/Moses Type to lead you out. or lead you towards something. Especially since you ignore the existence of the myriad of black leadership groups in this country.

And you want to call me clueless. Dude…just…wow.

But - Get Smart was pretty damn funny if you ever watched the TV series. And the chick that plays Agent 99 was pretty damn hot in a couple of scenes. No red sons of satan, or flying black guys, but funny and entertaining none the less.

I am looking to no one to lead me anywhere. I lead myself and that was the point you haven’t grasped yet. Here you are TELLING me what I believe and what I stand for. Anytime someone attempts to tell you that what you seem to believe about blacks in general seems…askew…you will no doubt be ready to inform me of how most blacks think and what most blacks want.

Just because an organization represents blacks it does not mean blacks look to that organization as a “leader”.

But, no doubt, you know what I think much better than I do…clearly.

Life would be so much easier if everyone had a sense of humour.

I have no idea what you think. I am beginning to wonder if you even know what you think. All I can do is go off what you say. That’s what I have replied to - your words.

But this is the usual trail in these discussions.

I got a new rocking chair, and a new pellet gun yesterday after the movie. I think I’m going to spend the day sitting in the chair, and shooting unsuspecting passers by.

Correction, you think you know what I think which is why you went on some spiel about “black leaders”. I didn’t bring that up, YOU DID. Blacks often get the pleasure of being told what we think as a group.

Whites in general are seen as individuals. No man is going to ask you about “leaders” or group all white people together when it comes to political decisions or criminal statistics or any other stat that attempts to act as if individual thought or action is non-existent in the black community.

Yet, all of this needs an explanation still.

If that’s the case nobody should use the word.

I don’t think anyone should use it either, but I think it’s up black people to work it out as to whether or not they use it.
Please explain this. When at the present time, it’s the ignorant black people using it, and it’s the white people that control media outlets, and it’s the white people that promote the ignorant black people screaming nigga. “And 1” is fun to watch, but ESPN doesn’t need to show some stupid ass kid C-Walking across the half court everytime somebody scores a bucket.

I’m not one of the white people that control the media, so I have no say in what they promote. Black people have taken the word and made it theirs, so it’s up to them to decide whether or not to use it. Some do, some don’t. Frankly, I don’t care too much if black people use it, if I hear a white person using it though, I say something.

You fail to see the point. Every race believe it or not has ignorant people, and smart people and people in between. But the black race is the only race where ignorance is promoted, and yes YOU don’t control media outlets. But if we want to argue reality and real implications and not proper grammer, media outlets in the US are controlled by the white race.

No, I see the point entirely. Believe it or not, I know that every race has ignorant people and smart people and people in between. I haven’t said anything that indicates otherwise. Most media outlets are probably owned by white people, but that’s not the same as saying that they are “controlled by the white race.” That implies that we have secret meetings where we decide what shows get on TV, and how each race will be portrayed.

All this shit about the media and who controlls it is pretty much irrelevant to the original conversation. You seem to be looking hard for an argument or at least an excuse to get up on your soap box. Stop pretending like you’re telling me something I don’t know.

All I have said is that no white people should use the word nigger, and that I don’t think black people should use it but that is up to them. If more black people spoke out against using that word, that would probably make it less acceptable. Again, I’m not going to lose any sleep over that fact that ignorant people, white and black, continue use that word.

Now it’s your turn to go find a non-existent quote.

I said black community leader - referring to Price. He is a black man, and is a community leader. He must be - he holds an elected office. Now - was he elected by a bunch of upper-middle class white yuppies? I have no fucking clue, but if I was a betting man, I would not put any money on it, nor would I put much money on a white man being picked to represent the Oak Cliff area.

You were the one who brought up leadership in the black community. Not me. Go look it up.

The only thing that needs explaining is what the fuck are even talking about.

I have to laugh at the notion that you think you are told what you think as a group. You are black. Hispanics are hispanics. There are organizations devoted exclusively to the interests of both of the races.

Whites are not allowed anything even approaching organizations like NAACP, or LULAC.

Get fucking real.

Why do you think there are organizations devoted to those races? Just for shit to do on the weekends?

Could it possibly be due to under-representation on many social issues?

Of course not.

Why does no one hear what you say? You want to be this big, independent person, but you have black people in power speaking over you. Speaking for you. Pushing the debate the way THEY want it to go.

I brought up black leadership in that context to tell you that that is what I hear. You don’t want to be pigeon holed by what they say and do? Fine. But it exists. But it is not the white man thinking for you. It is your own color fucking you over words like devil’s ffod cake, and black hole.

I can’t hear you, or anyone else but the Jacksons, and Sharptons, and the Prices. and you think it is wrong to call them black leaders? I’ve done all I feel I need to do in fixing the shit that was broken. 300 years before I was born. If you want people to stop thinking that black leadership speaks for you - maybe you should start talking louder than them.

But then you turn around here and say that black leadership IS needed to fix under-representation.

Which is it?

Like I said - get fucking real.
rainjack wrote:

Because they and you don’t care and don’t ask. You ASSUME.

What debate? Who is speaking for me and for what? On what specific issue have I gone to someone and asked them to speak for me?

No one has forced you to believe that anyone else speaks for me. You CHOSE to believe this. You need to be asking why you made that choice, not why I’m not running around worrying about who says what.

I don’t even pay attention to many of these issues so how is anyone getting credit for speaking for me or anyone else specifically?

You are the one who made the decision to tune into prime time tv and accept whatever was being peddled to you. Blacks can even tell you they have no clue what you are talking about, and you will still act as if my words are coming from someone else’s mouth.

You aren’t listening. How many more times does that need to be written before you stop going to other people to hear what I think?

We Todd Ed.
And after 8 years of Bush being compared to a monkey(in the looks dept.) we get Japan-Obama monkeygate.

It’s a forum, I’m supposed to be able to discuss topics without trying to be on a soap box.

I think I wasn’t clear in my first post since you didn’t answer my question.

WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE BLACK PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT USING THE N WORD?I don’t use it, haven’t seen X use it, My parents don’t use it, none of their friends use it. The people I associate with don’t use it. Damn near every black person at my college hated to hear it, yet white people continuously point to low lifes and say “look their using it, we can too”. I don’t run around reciting all the dumb shit trailer park trash say, because “hey, white people say it so I can say it too.”. And don’t say black people don’t speak up about it.

Black supposed “Leaders” have been speaking up about it, since NWA days. Even non leaders, such as Deloras Tucker who was just an average working grandmother made it her life struggle to stop it, so again I ask what do YOU think black people are supposed to do?

What would you like me to say instead of controlled? When they decide what to play on tv or radio, guess what they do they sit in a board room and make a decision. If you want to call this a secret meeting of some sorts then, ok, but thats the way of business for decisions. So how would you like me to phrase it?

And this brings on 2 more important topics. Everytime a black person stands for themselves, their on a “Soap Box”? or “over reacting?” When a guy with no gun gets shot 50 times be a cop, and Al sharpton screams about it he’s being radical? Yet some guy got tasered and it was on every station across the nation as a horrible act?
Better yet, P-X asks to change this thread from the OP’s original topic to an intelliegent discussion on race issues and all of a sudden he’s a nutjob?

So back to my original question. What do YOU THINK black people should do about the use of the N word among the black race?
