Just hit a 315 squat today, so now I guess I’ll be a part of the race to 405!
hit 385x4 today after failing it on monday and only getting 2 reps from it, this is a pr for me with this weight , feels good
guys I dicked. let my ego get to big and fucked my back up a little deadlifting on Wednesday. currently running sheiko where it called for 330x5x3 and could barely get 1 rep. I wasn’t in too much pain but after that I just stopped cause I didn’t wanna push anything to hard and make it worse. I’ve had this same issue before with my back but it’s always taken forever to heal because of football, any idea how long it would take to get back to normal? any tips? other than my sad attempt at a workout today I’ve basically been laying around.
Been a while since anyone posted here haha, but I am resurrecting this thread to be able to put my 405 squat somewhere. Finally got 4 plates this morning. It’s a few months later than I had hoped, but I feel like I’m moving up, and hopefully more PR’s are soon to come. I’ve had my eye on this thread for well over a year now, and I’m proud to have finally hit this milestone.
Congrats man.
Hoping to join you in about a month and a half…!

Holy dive bomb! Nice job! Do you always squat like that?

It’s something I have been working on. Basically, I have noticed that the biggest difference between a good day and a bad day is how fast I can move haha. It used to be that on a bad day, I might get really out of position on some reps, but now my form is locked in enough so that doesn’t really happen. On my best days, the faster I go down the faster I come up, and on my worse days it takes more effort to pull into the bottom and it’s slower and harder on the way up.
But yeah, today I was just feeling really good so I tried to focus on keeping my speed and technique exactly the way I would with 135 or another warm up weight. Wasn’t a perfect rep, but I’m pretty happy with it for a 15 lb PR.
It looks like you’ve also learned how to recover a slightly off lift and lift with your back when you get slightly out of position. Have you been doing any stiff legged deadlifts or goodmorning?
No good mornings for me, but I have been doing a lot of back work to try and fight some back rounding on deadlift. Lots of back extensions, deficit deads (touch n go) for lots of reps, just working on keeping my erectors locked in. So hopefully I am getting my back stronger, which will keep everything moving on up.
I’m gonna max deadlift next monday, as a reward for this squat haha, so hopefully I will prove my new-found back strength with a nice big deadlift PR as well.
I cut this one a bit high.
405
395
I’ve done up to 365 with no knee wraps.
I have a terrible problem of not setting my head correctly and collapsing at the chest. I’ve been hammering upper back to try and help.
I’m in for sure… my best is only 315 but I have been going good and feel strong. Doing a westside template at the moment
I’m in. A little intimidating since my squat is by far my worst lift. Last meet was 320 at 148. Have a meet in a couple weeks so we’ll see where I’m at then.
I’ll jump in. Recent best: 320lbs x 6.
in. 365 best running smolov atm ![]()
i’m in, hit 300*5 last week and that was the first time hitting over 300 since june. I’m currently running SST 5/3/1, so my gains are a little slow, but hoping to hit 405 within the next 6 months!

Why, oh why, did you change your Avi? I miss it already.

There’s a pretty decent chance you’re already there… Give it a shot!

That’s awesome to know! Will do, though I have a meet in 2 months, so I’m going to hold off on max testing for a little bit.
