I had to google it. Extremely bizarre habit. Is this very common in the US?

Actually almost started this exact same thread yesterday. Been dipping for about 6 years. Longest I ever quit was for 2 months, one of which I was abroad in China so didn’t really have a choice. Showering is the hardest part for me. I always throw in a lip when i shower. It has just become like a ritual habit at this point.

Let me know what you find useful. I shall be trying to quit right along side you.
As a fellow addict, first let me say I’m supportive of anyone trying to quit …

But quitting dip during a cut might make both endeavors much more miserable than either would be by themselves … I know dip has always made my life easier during long periods of calorie restrictions…

If you can pull off both, you will truly be The Man

Yeah I am afraid of that haha. I am at least trying to limit my dipping as much as I can. Hopefully just keeping it to once a day.

Why?

Dipping has no effect on cancer rates:

Dipping actually marginally helps cardiovascular health:

Long story short, while tobaccos SMOKE will kill you, sucking on tobacco is harmless, if nasty.

The FDA, of course, is 12 years behind the curve on this.

This article talks about nicotine being a fat burner among other things.

Really? Does it depend on the region? In my life I have seen one guy dip .
In the midwest I would say at least 1/3 of men do it
it is probably higher than that in the southeast. know several women that dip also.
Lots of folks here do, I am a one a day guy…nothing beats a glass of whisky and a chew before bed with a good book.

Dentist has given me a clean bill every appointment.

Everything in moderation ya’ll.

There’s 9 or 10 threads on here with the same topic…i used to write out a big long list of what I did and how I quit…basically I couldn’t walk 3 steps without getting out of breath and my hard-ons weren;'t…dipped from 17 - 35ish…was easy for me to quit as She Say would have left if I didn’t…shit is nasty…of course I miss it a lot especially during Autumn.

Suntory’s parent company just bought the Jim Beam distillery and brand I believe.

Thanks for linking those … Now I can continue my spiral of self destruction armed with the knowledge that it’s just a harmless, albeit nasty, habit …

Are those studies MRS Jewbacca approved?

I was going through a can + per day of Grizzly when I read about Swedish snus. It’s classed as a food product there so it is heavily regulated (no additives, etc.). Switched to that and have stayed there since. Even with exorbitant shipping costs, it costs about $1/day. Way better than the $4-$5 I had been spending (and way less nasty). And if you Google “Swedish snus cancer” you’ll find loads of studies showing no links to cancer (other than a slightly higher risk of pancreatic cancer).

(And sorry OP…not cool for us to roll in here and tell you you don’t need to quit. I respect you for doing it. It’s still an expensive, nasty crutch.)

Man I wanna be all grown up and have a good job:( forget all of you and your nice whiskies…just bought a dirty 30 for 13 bucks…poverty beer>>

No shame in that.

If you’re young and broke, no shame. If you’re over 25…shameful.
