So, to repeat the question: what happens if you don’t eat before you train?

It depend what time the day before you eat in the night, but I know thinking that’s if i don’t eat before training will be bad it’s certainly a stereotype

Also i don’t want burn to much if i already burn a lot even when im doing nothing ^^

But still start early in the morning it’s pretty amazing I don’t have a home gym for the moment, and in the morning it’s pretty empty and that’s it’s amazing for train, the calm, only their bad music break this good atmosphere, why gym club put so much music

I love gyms early in the morning or late at night, when it’s nice and empty and calm.

I, honestly, would just try just not eating before training. See what happens.

too much youtube videos

I train at 430 a.m…wake up at 3, cup of coffee, bagel thin with cream cheese, 1/2 cup natural OJ …on my way to the gym which is 40 minutes I down 16 ounces of water

Yeah training early it’s really particular, i really like when i can, same when u read really early, u never noticed that u are more calm, focus, concentrate in the morning when it’s early, and more the sun go down more u lost this thing and so on, it just my impression

As much as I love my oatmeal…

Peptopro + Cyclic dextrin (or Plazma as they refer to it here). Best pre- or periworkout drink I’ve tried. Easily digested and full of energy within 30 mins. The only downside may be the price. Partly solved by buying from an internet supplier.

39,95€ for 350 gr of peptropro and your, how much ?

What the difference of cyclic dextrin and the basic one

This one seems more cheap

I know u don’t understand french, just the cluster it’s a carb ultra fast, and the other one only “fast” and more cheap so…

Dextrin can be interesting for help to can weight and when i work because i walk a lot, with milk i can drink that and oats

If im bulking i just eat my first meal and off to the gym. Never had any problems to start training like 30mins after i eat. I dont eat huge meals tho - max of 50g protein and 80g of carbs, which is like 3 ham and cheese sandwitches.

If im cutting, i do fasting till at least 5PM, so i train fasted and i continue the day fasted.
Honestly, i have never felt any difference in my performance if i train fasted or after i eat. The only reason i eat in the morning when bulking is that i need more time in the day to stuff in the calories.

I will try both, but eats a little before train i think its better for me because i eat more like that and gain mass.

Dates-black chocolat-collagene- was perfect, i like a bit empty i push more like that, i really notice that, i just need some proteine maybe

A few things:

  1. I have no idea why you’re so stuck on the idea of needing protein for training. If anything, carbs are significantly more useful. What you need is energy to push through a difficult workout. The protein won’t do anything for you WHILE you’re training. Most of the actual growing your muscles do is outside the gym, during the day and while you sleep. I think you have a basic misunderstanding of biology.

  2. Beginners tend to overthink things. You are overthinking things. You will be MUCH better off just eating whatever the hell you want, and just working hard. You should experiment with different things, and just see what makes you feel/perform the best. For me, I can get by with just about anything, but I prefer to at least get SOME carbs in me. I’ve done anything from full meals, to junk food like pop tarts, granola bars, whatever. Sometimes I’ve just had rice. Or a peanut butter sandwich.

I’ve also eaten DURING a hard workout. Last weekend, I stopped by a doughnut shop and brought a chicken biscuit and a donut to the gym with me, and ate breakfast in between sets.

The only specific thing I generally recommend is drinking something that has electrolytes while you train. I think that helps performance in a significant way. It’s not necessary, but it works. I find Biotest’s Plazma to be a really, really good drink to use while you’re at the gym.’

Last thing: you are speaking to people who are very, very accomplished in the gym. Nobody here wants to hear your opinion. If you’re here to ask a question, ask it. But PLEASE don’t come back with ‘ya I think that’s not optimal’ or ‘I always thought ____’. That’s the fastest way to get people to stop helping you. Nobody cares what your opinion is. You don’t know what you’re doing. You’re here to learn, not teach, and not argue. I promise, if you don’t take anything else away from what I’ve said here, it’s worth taking at least that to heart.

Good question kolyma,

Well, dextrin is commonly causing bloating and GI-problems which excludes it as a periworkout supplement (for me).

Highly Branched Cluster Dextrin has it’s benefits in a more rapid uptake from the stomach, which causes less (or none) GI-distress. It also is a better carrier/transporter of other agents (pharmaceuticals or proteins) due to its unique molecular shape - why it’s beneficial to combine with a fast acting (hydrolyzed) protein like Peptopro. This is probable best translated to - better absorbtion and more energy/endurance. I can actually feel the fluids staying longer in my system with HBCD.

@RampantBadger once suggested to chose the cheapest of HBCD, Vitargo or Karbolyn (periworkout carbs) as they are fairly equal in terms of easy absorbtion. Personally, I have experienced tendencies of low blood sugar post workout by Vitargo - it doesn’t hold on that well for me.

But I am no salesman. I would buy one each of dextrin and HBCD to see if there is a difference (to you).

Ah yes, and I think you should be able to find 500 g of PeptoPro for 30 euros. Expensive it is. But you could do like I often do with supplements - use only half the recommended dosage of PeptoPro and it will last longer. You’ll reap some benefits anyway.

Its wasn’t my intention to just give my opinion like that.
I will keep what you saying. After what work for you, didn’t work automatically for someone else, same with exercices, prog and so on. I was just trying to get some view and try it, I didn’t had any pretention, but i understand why u can understand like that, thank for your advice
