Quick AD Question

Hi, I’ve been eating 1500 cal for the past week. I’m cutting so I want to continue eating 1500 through my refeed.

Doing the math I need F20%, CHO 61% and P20% which is ONLY 73.5g of protein. Isn’t it too little, I mean, I weigh nearly 170 lbs.

Thanks

2 schools of thought on this one.

1.)When cutting it’s a better idea to cut your weekday calories, but keep the reefeeds normal. Maybe cut it down to one day instead of two, but high carb and high cal.

2.) Carbs are protein sparing, so just go with it, since having insulin elevated will prevent muscle breakdown.

A third option would be to pop some BCAA’s throughout the day, just to be safe.

Juicy Lucy,

Keep you your carbs clean - sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal etc. Bring your fats down and still eat protein with each meal… I don’t usually watch or weigh on weekends as much as I do during the week. Also during the week I don’t not use percentages. Everything figures in grams. I think it gets you closer to things.

When I started to cut, it became a matter of cutting the fats. it kinda of became a low fat game. Lower fat cut of meat - more chicken, shrimp, tuna, turkey - cutting back on your better fats, olive oil, walnuts, fish oil, flax oil etc. One thing I never did is go below 1200 calories. I didn’t think it to be necessary and most the gals I knew on this site, it didn’t help them much to go that low.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks a lot.

I will probably go with low protein and BCAA’s.

What about the fiber or is it NET carbs one has to count on refeeds?
