Questions for Fucoxanthin Users

Okay, I’ve been looking into Fucoxanthin recently. I know a few people on this site have used it. They had good experiences, I’m guessing this has spurred more people to use it.

F^&* studies on rats. Can you guys who have used it post some numbers (BF% before and after type stuff)? Maybe before and after pics of cuts you have used fucoxanthin with (if you’re comfortable with posting pics)? What were you using in conjunction to fucoxanthin? Where did you buy it/how much did it cost/overall amount used? What brand?

Thanks in advance, it’s greatly appreciated.

I did not think it did anything. Bought it from Life Extension, don’t remember what it cost, used as directed, used no other fat loss supps at the time. I usually record everything I do for fat loss along with progress (caliper measurements), so I am pretty sure it did nothing. The label says basically that it may take 6 weeks of continuous use (3X per day with meals) to see results. Unfortunately I didn’t notice that fine print, because how would you notice an effect after 6 weeks? I don’t diet for much longer than that anyway.

I read Life Extension when it comes in the mail, but they definitely err on the side of taking every possible compound known to man. They are not picky enough about the quality of research. So many of the studies simply administer some supplement to a bunch of people, and note some effect. No placebo control, randomization, blinding. So they get excited about a lot of effects that probably won’t hold up to be meaningful in real life results.

any other takers?

I also bought the LEF Fuco, although I would say that it did work.

I do not have numbers to go with it, but I am basing my results on how much heat I produced at rest before taking it, during taking it, and when I doubled the dose. There was definitely increased heat production at all times, but it was not anything more significant than the increase in passive heat expenditure after some ephedrine.

However, it is fat soluble (so take it with fatty acids, many people forget to do that), so increasing heat expenditure chronically sounds nice.

During my time using it, I did lose a lot of fat; however, the fuco was not the only thing that could have been the cause of this (I was also taking HOT-ROX at the time, and trying a carb-cyclic diet for the first time).

So it works, but I do not know to what significance. If you can get it for cheap then I would consider it as (due to it’s mechanisms of action), I doubt it would adversely react with other thermogetics since it is non-stimulatory. (Disregarding unforeseen interactions)

well, the main reason I’m asking about it is because where I’m at it’s like 60$/90capsules so it’s slightly on the expensive side but I may just go for it, record everything I do/take and then post data here and hopefully others will do as I do and we can make more definitive conclusions about it
