Hello Christian,
I’m currently following your Neurotyping course and would like to thank you for the quality of the content.
I have a few questions that I can’t resolve despite my research and reading.
I’ve read that an excess of serotonin causes anger and/or bulimia/sugar addiction. What could explain this? Because when serotonin increases, dopamine decreases, so how do you explain anger?
In what cases can there be an excess of serotonin? What examples can explain it?
I think I’ve understood the interactions between dopamine/noradrenalin/adrenalin, but how does depletion or excess production of serotonin and acetylcholine work?
Finally, I have a question about noradrenaline; in your training on the NT production capacity table, there’s no noradrenaline level: is the level directly linked to the level of dopamine and adrenaline?
Many thanks,
Michael
I can be a paradoxical reaction… like the body feels overly relaxed and releases more adrenaline to keep you awake and active. And adrenaline does increase anger (not dopamine).
A friend of mine get this from supplementing 5-HTP, which increases serotonin: it makes him aggressive and unable to sleep. Those paradoxical responses are not common, they are the exception. Similarily, some people get sleepy when taking caffeine
And the excess serotonin comes mostly from stress or anxiety?
Because from what I understand, the types who handle stress well have a fairly high level of Serotonin (or GABA), whereas the types who are very anxious have rather low levels of Serotonin.
