Questions About Certain Foods

Ok so i just wanna see what others think about these foods in a diet

Potatoes vs sweet potatoes
Brown Rice vs White rice
banana covered in 100% natural peanut butter for post workout (even pre workout, maybe?)
nutella
100% whole wheat/multigrain/12 grain breads
whole wheat pita/tortillas
cheerios

reason im doing this cause this is what my diets been like for the past 2 weeks
First im 20 year old, 6 feet tall and weigh about 185-190lbs…depends on the day i suppose

breakfast

  • oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup of cottage cheese mixed with fat free yogurt and tbsp of all natural pb

Meal 1 (2-2 1/2 hours after breakfast and 2 hours before gym)

  • 1/2 cup of rice
  • 6oz chicken breast
  • veggies

In between workout and meal 1

  • 1/2 cup of yogurt or a piece of fruit

GYM

  • post protein shake, creatine shake, multivitamin,

Meal 2 (1-1 1/2 hours after workout

Before bed

  • yogurt with cottage cheese
  • testosterone pills

Now iv been eating this for 2 weeks, seen some sweet results but holy shit im getting sick of this food. So i wanna incorporate the list from above into my diet. Oh and im looking to gain muscle size while trying to keep my fat level down as low as possible. Feel to add to my food list, or chirp/help/critique my diet. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You’re saying your post workout meal is a banana covered in peanut butter? Or are you considering this as an option? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, start reading everything on this site that pertains to nutrition/supplementation.

I also see little to no protein in the majority of your “meals”. I’m a vegan and I can say with 100% confidence that I get more protein in two meals than you likely do in your entire diet.

You’re 20 years old, why are you taking Tesosterone pills?

Post evidence of these “sweet results” you’ve been getting.

no not post work out meal, just something to take along with my protein shake. i forgot add my second meal after my workout would be 1/2 cup of rice and some type of meat

The pills i won in a contest from the company called blue star, otherwise i wouldnt buy them. The banana and PB idea is more of a thing to add to my diet…or should i leave out the banana?

For my post workout meal i usually consume 1/2 cup of rice and some type of meat

Also, all these articles iv read about insulin just confuse the hell out of me. According to the way my diet is structured, my insulin levels during the day are fairly low. So after my workout i should spike my insulin? this will result in better gains and less fat, and how long should i wait to spike this insulin after my workout and with what…

The effects of insulin are important, but it is much simpler to just try and focus extra calories around your workout. Your body will take care of the insulin component on its own when it absorbs the extra food.

If anything, leave out the peanut butter. Dietary fat sources such as PB slow down protein synthesis/anabolism, the banana would be good for raising insulin and aiding in the shuttling of nutrients through out the body.

The creatine im on already contains 75g of sugar for 2 scoops…definitely dont need to try and raise my insulin on purpose, no?

When you said creatine I assumed you meant just a standard bottle of creatine mono, how much are you throwing down the drain on the product you’re purchasing?
