My Total cholesterol was 40 points high and my ldl was 64 points high. Everything else looked ok.
My doctor agreed to TRT but at only 75mg/week.
She does not believe in AI, she told me that when my T goes up my E2 should follow.
She also does not believe in HCG saying that it is not tried and true yet.
She is a PA for an Urologist and she specializes in Womens Infertility.
I have been researching this for quite some time and when. I went in to see her I had folders of papers to back up my requests. She still disagreed so I ordered my own anastrozole and I am looking for a HCG supplier without a script.
My question is this: They only give the shots 2 times per week at the doctor’s office and I was wondering if it would be better for me to go in on Monday and then on Friday for 38mg’s at a time or get it all on one day?
I would gladly self inject but she is very skittish of that for some reason.
I am by far no expert on this, but I do have recent personal experience with low T and high E2. Rather than repost about me, you can read about my experience on the thread here http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=2198608
I really wanted TRT but my doc would not go for it. At the suggestion of some very wise men on this forum, I started research with Liquid Ana 7 days ago. I feel 100% better already. I have been in a major rut for several years and am absolutely amazed at the turn-around in just a week. Do some research on KNB and KSman’s posts and you will learn an incredible amount of info on T, E2 and other male issues.
You may not even need to go through the hassle of T shots. Maybe just try the L-Ana first. Whatever you decide, you WILL most likely benefit greatly from the L-Ana.
About the T injections, on second thought, after looking at your numbers again I would say go ahead with them. Your T is really low. You still need the Ana.
I agree with t2low, you really should get on shots. Although 75mg/week doesn’t seem like very much, with your current T numbers, I’m sure it will change your life for the better. Your “doctor” has completely missed your thyroid problem. Your TSH is higher than 2.0, and your T4 is relatively high.
Are you always tired, colder than everybody else, “moody” on a moment’s notice maybe? Low thyroid will cause that as well as low T. Your E2 compared to your Total T says you probably convert to E2 easily. As far as injection scheduling goes, I suggest as long as you have adex you could get by with once a week. That being said; you might respond better to twice a week injections. I personally inject EOD 56mg, and my doctor is on board with it. I also am one of the lucky ones prescribed adex and HCG.
It’s possible you may need to get your thyroid re-checked in six months after starting shots as guys like us with compromised thyroid/adrenals will have conversion issues from T4 to T3. Six months after starting shots I felt like crap again, my E2 was okay, so I went on the net, found out my T shots may be affecting my thyroid meds and they were. Once again, I was blessed with a great doctor then, and I have one now too. If your doc won’t budge on thyroid meds, go research chems on those too if necessary.
I know of a guy that started on adex only and his TT went from 400 to almost 900. Granted his numbers were higher than yours, but a little adex goes a long way for most everybody.
KNB
EDIT: be aware the use of HCG will likely raise both your TT and E2 numbers on your blood tests. If you choose to get shots once a week and you get your b/w done the day before your shots, your numbers will be at their lowest on that day. Getting shots twice a week will show you higher numbers on b/w day, so it’s something to think about…
I actually did mention to her the Thyroid being high. I read on a post here that anything above 2.0 was considered Pre-HypoThyroidism and I said as much, but she waived me off saying that I was within range so it was OK.
She has me scheduled to come back in 3 months for a follow up and she only wants me tested for CBC,PSA,SHBG,Free and Total Test,Albunium, and Estradiol(which I damn near had to twist her arm off to test for)
My next appointment is on a Monday and I get my shots on Mondays, so I’ll go in for bloodwork the morning before I get the shot so I should be nice and low?
I’ll also start to research Hypo-Thyroidism to learn as much as I can. My first shot is Monday and the Ana should arrive Monday or Tuesday, is it an oral, and should I start it right away.(Ithought I read somewhere that people mix it with their drinks)

Thanks for all the great info and the links
Yes the L-Ana is an oral. We’re only talking a few drops too. And yes, start right away.
I mix mine into a 1/4 glass of water, drink it down then rinse the cup and drink it down too.
If your “doc” won’t discuss your thyroid problem, there are research chems for that too.
Looking at my Thyroid numbers should I be looking into T3 or T4 medication. I have found Cytomel, which is a T3 and Levothyroxine, which is a T4. With high T4 do I take a T4 and would that fix my TSH also?
Iam still reading but there are so many conflicting papers. I would just like to get started…
I’ve been down the family Dr and specialist route and the fact remains that the only ones that know what they’re doing are a couple of anti aging clinics and Dr John Crisler. If you want proper treatment for life spend the money to see him and be done with it. Other than that you might be better off using an online TRT Dr to write the scrips for proper treatment. I’ve been to several doctors and an endo who were all clueless. Now I’m under the care of Dr John.

What is L-ana? Is it legal? OTC? Need a script? Where can I get some?
Liquid anastrozole, also know as arimidex. It is available as a research chemical that is is perfectly legal to buy, sell, and posess. Google “Research Chemicals” to find some. I suggest you search on this site first though.
If I were you, I would be looking for another doctor. I wouldn’t expect much from someone specializing in women’s infertility. Why risk your health on someone who you know from experience isn’t knowledgeable about very important issues?
With your numbers, you should have no problem getting TRT from any qualified doctor. You can screen them by phone. Simply call the doctor’s office and tell them you are looking for a TRT specialist and ask if the doctor is currently treating TRT patients and ask if he/she is accepting new TRT patients.
How’s your body composition? If you’re carrying extra fat, you should be working hard to get rid of it. Fat makes estradiol and can seriously affect your hormone balance.
I am looking as we speak for a new Doctor, unfortunately that is the only urologist in the area and she is the only one in the practice with TRT experience. So after my last visit I started calling around to some Endos to see what I can find and the phone calls don’t seem to promising so far.
I am overweight and am working hard to get it all off. It is going slow, due to my lack of motivation. But I am trying.
I had my first shot on Monday and I walked out of the doctor’s office and half leaked out of the injection site…
I have no idea, all I know is my ass felt wet and it was running down my leg. She gave me the shot in the hip. I called the doctors office to tell them and they said there was nothing they could do since they couldn’t prove that it leaked and they couldn’t double the injection.

You know thats kinda funny because every time I take off my bandaid there is a wet stain on it. It’s not blood it’s fluid. So I’ve been on the nurses for not injecting deep enough, in the fat not the muscle.
I haven’t felt any effects except from my 1st shot and that was mostly just insomia the 1st week. The first shot was in the muscle, you can feel it whereas my other 3 shots I don’t even feel when they inject the 100mg in. I really don’t know whats up, the last nurse assured me it was in the muscle…
My God… I was wondering why I couldn’t sleep. I have been tossing and turning all week. I did not feel the injection at all and she also said it was in the muscle, upper hip.
