Question about TRT, HCG

I’ve been on TRT for a few years now and had immediate success that faded and never got it back.

Been doing 150 MG every 3 days (i’ve tried ED, EOD, Weekly, Biweekly, etc…)

I’ve been going thru an endocrinologist who is unfamiliar with HCG and doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing it so I went to a TRT clinic and the guy wants me to do 150MG TRT, 2500 IU HCG once a week, with Clomid once a week and anastrozole which actually does help.

I have felt much better introducing HCG but curious if this dose is way too high and if once a week HCG is not ideal… Also wondering if Clomid with HCG makes sense at all.

Also have red flags about the TRT clinic doctor and wondering if I can just get HCG online somewhere and do it myself… Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks

Your doc doesn’t know what hes doing. Thats a poor HCG protocol and there’s no need for Clomid. Anastrozole would have to be dosed based on labs and symptoms. He’s all over the place… run. Find a better doc. Do you have any labs from your solo T protocol you could share?

I do, I will post them shortly… I agree it all sounded bad but HCG has been helpful at least in the couple weeks I’ve done it.

Can you elaborate a little about what an ideal would look like with HCG and TRT? I know everyone’s different but what’s wrong about this one.

I’m debating just getting HCG online, do you know anywhere that you can do that? Cause I could just keep me T prescription with the endo because it’s wayy cheaper.

Most recent labs right before adding HCG.

This was 150 MG, every 3 days, with .125 AI day of injection (AI has been helpful, I know its a polarizing topic but I’ve tried without and I aromatize a lot and never felt decent without it)

Free T: 19.6 (range: 8.7-25.1)
T: 736 (range: 264-916)
Estradiol: 21.9 (range: 7.6 - 42.6)

A lot of men make the mistake and think there’s something wrong with their TRT protocol when in fact, it is something else. You’re allowed to have other medical problems unrelated to TRT.

What is your iron and ferritin levels?

What are you hemoglobin and hematocrit levels?

I get that, I will say with HCG mood and libido has drastically improved just thinking it will be short-lived because my dosage is maybe too high or injections too infrequent

I do not have Iron or Ferritin levels on my labs… I’m guessing I should request those on my next one?

Hemoglobin: 16.6 (range: 13-17.7)
Hematocrit: 46.9 (range: 37.5-51)

TRT can deplete iron stores from the creation of higher hemoglobin. As far as losing the benefits of TRT, it can be depletion of magnesium and or pregnenolone or the original cause of your testosterone.

It can even be excessive dosing, or maintaining high normal testosterone for prolong periods of time. Some men do better keeping hormone levels midrange.

Regarding HCG, is this dosage too high?

I’ve never done it but have looked at other threads of people on it and they seem to be much lower weekly dosages

Yes, more like 500 IU’s twice weekly. Your doctor is trying to shove as much product at you as he can.

Thanks, sounds that way… from the get go didn’t trust this guy when he said he’s never heard of people injecting more often than twice a week.

Is there a reputable place online you can order HCG?

It’s a control substance, you need a doctors prescription in the US.

That is ridiculous. I will use 400-500IU three times a week for guys wishing to conceive, 300IU twice a week for atrophy. Your dose will catch up with you eventually.

Trying to get pregnant? Worried about atrophy? If no, no hCG.
Testosterone, hCG, Clomid, anastrozole, really hate to see this.

Clomid makes no $en$e.

Anastrozole? Should not need it. Some do, and I’ll give it, but not very often.

I don’t know about the 300mg a week either. That’s a lot. But, your labs a very low for that dose, so maybe.

I suspect it is 150mg per week split into two injections.

Yea it’s 150 per week. And I’m glad you’re confirming my suspicions it seemed like an absurd number.

I’ve been on TRT for a few years and I do think I’m one of those guys who needs AI. Even on every day injections my E2 spikes and a small amount of AI helps. Additional hcg Is new for fertility reasons but I’ve also noticed at least at the start it’s very much improved libido and mood. Will need to find a new doctor though

There’s a lot going on here. HCG increases estrogen, so it’s confusing that you’d feel better adding HCG if the AI also helps you feel better. They seem to be working in opposite directions.

HCG immediately increased libido but I’ve also increased my AI dosage quite a bit. I anticipated E2 to spike a lot.

I’ve gone thru high e2 and know the signs for myself, my anxiety increased and quickly just added more AI to protocol and that seemed to help

Sorry I’m late to reply. @highpull has provided a proper protocol as always. Solid advice from a pro right there.

Much appreciated everyone, I scheduled an appointment with a new doc
