Congrats on the fabulous photography as of late, the PR’s, the everything! You’re killing it in everything Mainy!
BRAVO!
High rep (which is 10+ for us powerlifters, haha) squats BLOW, congrats on kicking the shit out of 'em!

You are becoming a rep pr addict! I can relate. Not many places I won’t go to eek one out.
I agree on the eats–they sure help. Certainly a 10lb weight gain fueled a lot of my progress this year too. The good news is that dropping 5 left me (I think) as lean as I was 10lbs ago.

Thanks Git!
I was about to head to the gym today when the husband dropped, “don’t over do it” wink wink so I made it short and sweet, in order to have more sweet.
foam roll and warmup/stretching
hamstring
calves
groin
retard frogs
bodyweight squars
wall squats - and plenty of them
shoulder dislocates 2x12.
felt nice and limber for the first time in a long time
Squatz:
bar x8
95 x5
115 x5
130 x5
140 x5
160 x5
170 x10! rep PR +2.
conversation in my head on last set:
near 5 reps “I can stop here, it’s the prescribed reps.”
near 8 reps “I can stop here and equal my former Pr.”
After 8th rep I told myself to dig deep and somehow I cracked myself a crazy ass smile in the mirror dropped for 2 extra reps, racked the bar and collapsed on the floor for a minute. Anyone ever tap the crazy to push through? You know exactly what I mean if you’ve done it. Damn it felt good. At the point I was satisfied with my effort and called it a day. Keeping the rest of the crazy for home ![]()
And for those wondering where I’m pulling out these Pr’s from, I’ve gained 10lbs in the last 2 months. Now sitting at 165lbs. I know some of this is the beer and wine and good summer food I’ve indulged in. Game plan is to not change a thing for the next 3 weeks, and when I come back from summer vacay 2nd week of September I’ll lay off the vino and drop the carbs a bit. Just a general clean up so that I can compete in my weight class in October without doing anything drastic. So girly’s you want PR’s every gym day? Eat like a pig and gain weight.
cheerios!
You are tearing it up! God your strong! I’m eating like a pig too and my strength is climbing, but I hate what i see in the mirror. I just have to keep believing in the “eat big, lift big” mantra. I’m glad its working for you, it helps with my own insecurity.
I tapped the crazy most recently for my 315 triple.
i don’t hafta go far for the crazy tap… its more important for me to remove my head from my ass than to tap the crazy. that’s just me tho.
Lots of good stuff going on in here.

I’ve been in this same boat! the awesome workouts are worth it though ![]()
you’re kicking so much ass in here… that calendar sounds cool. WIsh I was close cause i’d help out.
yay for lift big and eat big. you are beautiful and curvy, too, nimain. hopefully if i eat up and work hard i’ll grow up to be all strong like you ![]()
lovely photos. you have a nice way of capturing personality. i like the pants / tile combo, too. wonderful.
Bear - now you gotta comes and toot your 315 horn in MA LOG!! But I agree, pulling it for a triple after psyching yourself for a single must have been one hell of a mindfuck.
Cal - grab a handful of them vibes, they are free. And the more I share the more I get.
Greg - I would totally shoot you as a sexy plumber. no shirt aloud for your shoot ![]()
Alexus - when you look in the mirror and start fretting over not seeing any abs, grab your gym bag and hit the gym, pull a PR out of your butt and remind yourself that the donut helps.
I want to look the part too. Been my main goal all along…but you have to put in the work!!
I got the nutrition part down but now I’m broken. Isn’t that the way it goes?

maym: I took this picture summer of 2010 after lifting for 5 years. Although I looked pretty I did not look like I lifted. For me that was the turning point, I wanted my hard work to show, I wanted muscle definition. Started eating and lifting and the muscle is showing, people have commented that I look the part now.
I had this problem too. I started lifting because I wanted to be AND look strong. Its only been in the last year or so that I’ve started to really see changes in the right direction.
Its still frustrating for me though because apparently, my body is “extreme” enough to have trouble finding clothes that fit well, but I still don’t think that I actually look very muscular in street clothes. In the gym its not so bad though. Clothes are stretchy and muscles are pumped. The other day Gym Friend actually mentioned that my back was “looking jacked” and that you could see every muscle. He’s a bit dramatic, but that sort of thing is still cool to hear.
fwiw to both bg and teh frenchie-
you HAVE looked like you lift, bc the discriminating eye knows what to look for. not that either one of you have made changes for the worse and in fact i dig whats been goin on with both asses. your mind is always gonna fuck with your mirror, which is why you should post as many nekkid pics as possible. so we can all look objectively.
ya, thats it…

mim- your mind is fucking with your mirror, too. you’ve looked like a brick shithouse for awhile.
I don’t look the part in clothes at all. Better so in scant attire. I haven’t found that gaining weight changes my strength (or lack thereof). I lift the same whether I’m 109 (low end) or 115 (high end). It’s why I’ve toyed with the idea of cutting to the 105s. If I could keep my same strength levels . . .
Bear - I am full of vain. I want to look like a lifter to more than just “the decerning eye”. I wanna walk down the street and know people are saying, “that woman lifts” regardless if they like it or not. I want my lifestyle to sing out loud and proud.
had a woman, complete stranger tell me in a store on a customer call: “you lift right?”
I popped a gun and a smile for her.
That right there is what I want.
Got to the gym nursing a headache…
warm up/ stretching the usuals…
foam roll
hams/calves/ groin stretch
retard frog
prayer squat
bodyweight squat x5
shulder dislocates 2x12
then business
Deadlifts:
135x8
155x8
190x5
210x5
220x5
230x5
240x5
250x7 Rep Pr +2. Happy with this.
Now off to my Deep Diving class. This mermaid is diving all weekend, can’t wait!
Haha, you’re too funny, popping guns for strangers.
Tell me all about your deep diving class, I’ll have to live through you the next 4 weeks. Is it Padi that you have your certification with? What depths are they going for?
Padi certs - theory was pretty banal. Nothing surprising a lot of repeat. I’m taking Deep and Wreck dives this week and diving over the weekend to complete the certs. We are heading out to the Thousand Islands in Ontario, about a 2.5 hour drive from my place. That area is strew with shipwrecks.
Going for 3 dives on saturday, 3 on sunday. I’ve got my Nitrox done a couple of weeks back so I’ll be using it for the first time. We should be hanging out around 100-115 feet mark where the ships are sunk. There will be no penetration of the vessels, but there should be some drift diving which will be fun.
the entire site is covered with zebra muscles however and gloves are a must to protect the hands.
