Smash the 225. Move it like Bernie.
Those are some serious scoring errors to give credit for a bad bench and discredit a [potentially] good DL. I would call and get it straightened around. Wasn’t there an announcer calling the lifts good or not? And a computerized scoring system that was visual to attendees/lifters? Hmmm.
Hey Frenchie, I was reading a book on photography, figured you might like it: The Art of Self-Portraiture

yeah ![]()
especially if your deadlift added more to your total than your bench ![]()
I’m late to the party, but you did amazing at your meet! The pics were pretty awesome. No one can argue that your hips weren’t driven through on that last DL picture haha.
So I take it you’ve been diving for some time then? Would love to do that training at some stage especially if I ever get a chance to do a live aboard in nice warm waters. One thing is for sure, lifting weights helps with lugging around diving equipment.
MIM - RAWR!
Kalle- glad to know I’m not the only one going through this. But it does take away from the serious of the sport…
BC - I sent them an email, am all for an honest lift. Regardless if you want to say I got my last deads or not the bench was lifted off me. And yet the flags/lights/sheets have the final say. I suppose I need to get my 65kg bench for realz in November. Thanks for the link! looks awesome, are you interested in self-portrait? you will need to show us the results ![]()
Arachne -will anyone be filming your lifts in July?
DF - I will need to visit you log and refresh my memory as to what a Bernie dance move looks like ![]()
Snap/Alexus - sent email and got the same reply from 2 different people: the sheet has final say and the judging lights were majorly screwed up that day hence the switched to flags. As this was my 2nd meet and the coach was also lifting I was pretty much on my own. My priorities were to keep my “game head”, keep focused, watch the lights and keep my shit together. Next meet I will need to listen to the announcer more and check out the score board… I had assumed that the scoring would go smoothly.
Blaze - I’ve learned to “overdo” for this very reason. bar is locked and loaded.
MT - Not really I went through my classes a year ago. Took my open water in august and my advanced in October. Dove Cozumel in Januray. I actually booked my nitrox cert yesterday and I’ll probably be doing a regional dive in july. I fell in love with it, love the silence, the floating, watching the marine life. I could be down there all day. Invest in your classes and those will give you the skills to face the big oceans. I have family who went with the “swimming pool hotel course” and had an issue for weeks with pressure in his ears cause he was ascending and descending too quickly. I’ve looked into live aboards and those with private rooms are very expesive. I can only affoard the ones where they pile everyone in the same bunker. I would go crazy after a week of that. I’d rather stay at a hotel by a dock and have my boat pick me up everyday like I did in Cozumel. I had an awesome time. Here’s her website: http://www.scubawithalison.com/
Deload week full on: brought my bike to the shop to get it fixed for summer. Got some wine on my way back, cooked a lovely supper and watched a movie. Tomorrow I might go watch the new Xmen in theatres.
Naw, I’m not interested in self-portrait. I don’t have a decent camera even. However, I saw you were interested in it and I had picked up the book so I decided to let ya know bout it.
We are helping my brother built his terrace and deck this weekend. I will def need a big shot of bailys in all 5 my of my morning cup of coffee…
I’ve never even built a birdhouse. Let alone a deck…
Love baileys, I’d just do the shots of baileys and have the coffee as a chaser. But I’m a lush.

I’ll do that and show up with some glitter glue, feathers and stickers saying “I’m on the decoration comitee!”
lol.
Sounds like a fun weekend. I too am an unskilled laborer. But, I enjoy physical work. You’ll have a blast digging, and hauling shit around!
Outdoor construction/landscaping always fun as long as the weather holds up! Coffee with or without baileys sounds amazing right now (though better with)! I’m gonna have to make some now lol. Enjoy the weekend and outdoors with the fam!
The only thing better than outside construction is outside de-construction. When I worked on a roofing/decking crew, at one point they handed me a hammer, a sawzall, and a sledgehammer, pointed me at a 20’x10’ wood deck and said “make that gone”.

Now that’s more up my alley…no skill required!
I just saw your meet pics! So very cool
Excellent work lady!!

HAHAHAHA! Love it!
Have a great weekend!
We had beautiful almost too sunny weather throughout the weekend. My job was to haul heavy stuff, do some menial tasks like remove 200 tacks from the wood beams, take care of my cookie-face, drill, clean, take pictures etc… it was so much fun. We were well fed with burgers (I downed 3 of them last night chased by a hot dog).
Nadia - spot on: I def enjoyed the outside menial work
Blaze & MFM- outside decontruction sounds like awesomesauce! Now that I could do for sure ![]()
Coyote - thank you!
Maschy - Hope your weekload is light and quick and leads you to another great weekend.
