Quest for Amazon Legs

I’m a little late to the party, but I still had to pop in to say congrats on the PRs. Looks like you did a great job at the meet.

And I love all the attempt pictures. Whoever took them must have some skill. Every time I’m in charge of pics, or have them taken of me, they’re always blurry and mid-lift.

Fucking LWI frenchie! Awesome lifts, great pics, and wonderful recap! Congrats on such a big improvement!

That really stinks about the DL.
I’d be a bit ticked off to say the least…

I am but what can I say? Maybe I hitched it? the rules are made to be fair for all. Maybe I wasn’t locked out? (pic shows that I am)… Maybe I didn’t wait for the signal to drop??

at the end of the day I lifted the weight and locked it, I know that much. I am learning a little more about the procedures at each meet and next time I will freakin stare at the lights for 5 minutes and if there is a red ask then and there what it was called for. It’s just too late to contest anything at this time… but dammit I could have sworn they were all white.

bah humbug.[/quote]

What’s funnier is the site says my last bench was good when they clearly lifted the weight off me. there was no lockout. So FYI that bench raw provincial record is false. I will need to beat my own false score next time. sheesh

I can think of worse motivation than humiliation.

Strange happenings in the world of Canadian powerlifting

Well, you could always get in touch and tell them that it was a fail - that way you won’t have to lift so much to beat your record. Of course, setting a record in the first place is frigging awesome.

Wow such strong Pl’ers on this site. Sheesh. Those are some great pics.

I see you are into diving, do you go out much?

did they mess up their records by white lighting the bench and red lifting the dead when it should have been reversed? can you send them the pics or something??

Great job on the meet. Glad to see that you got some PRs, and from the pics, you went extremely deep. Yay!

Adding 50 lbs to your DLs is also very awesome. Can’t wait to hear about the next meet ;D

Bear - I still remember that you are going to bite me if I reach that 315 before you. I plan to do it this summer. Now THAT is motivation for me

DF - kinda rough to be training since december 2010 for this and finally have such a weird day.

Cal - I asked and apparently the score sheet is the final word. As for setting records I am the first female in the 74kg “raw” category to lift since they have created raw. That means all my lifts are simply “baseline” records to be smashed. So come and get my crown ladies!

BG- My husband was the photographer and he brought along our beast camera and my 50mm lens. He did an amazing shot of the full event.

Ink- between you and DF I had to step up man. didn’t want to lose my “LWI” badge

MT - planning to get my Nitrox certification this summer and perhaps do a dive or two to keep my skills fresh. Thing is diving in Quebec is not diving in the Caribbean and I don’t have the budget to go down south very often. Last time I went was this past January in Cozumel. Went on my own and dove all week. It was one of the best adventures I ever had.

As for stong PL - you should see the ladies I lift with. Those women are tiny and out lift me like crazy. Coach got a 169kg squat (352lbs) and a LEGIT record deadlift of 175kg (385lbs) in the 63kg category. That’s 16lbs less than I weigh. What’s worse is that her deadlift wasn’t her max and looked effortless.

Alexus - There’s not much point in arguing now. But I will be a hawk over those lights and scores in November when it will really count in my book.

Nikki - November baby  I have a feeling time is going to fly. I need to own that 225lbs squat before then. There I said . Now to follow through and do it.

I have no doubt that if you set your mind to it, you will get there.

Stated DL and squat goals! It’s great to see you coming off your meet experience motivated and inspired. Sorry about the DL snafu.

Oh come on now, you’ve earned it permanently, and it’s never getting revoked!

THATS MY GIRL!!!

You freakin OWNED that meet doll! What fed did you lift in? (Sorry if you mentioned this…) I love all the music in here too! I am going to start posting my daily theme song in mine

sheesh BWG - my numbers are puny compared to yours but thanks for cheering me on

we don’t have that many lifters here in Canada. The local provincial fed is
http://www.fqd-quebec.com/en

and then there is the CPU whose site has been down for a bit. They are the national level.

correct me if I’m wrong Ouro. (she’s our national PL star 'round these parts

The gauntlet has been thrown…
you WILL get that 225!

So awesome! Always silliness with powerlifting feds and judging though…

Frenchie, I would call up the cannucks and correct them, even if they drop your bench as well, that will at least show your honesty to them.

Just caught up! AWESOME! Amazing! Beautiful! Thank you so much for posting your meet pics!
