Quality Grippers

Wipe the sand out of your vagina and develop some manlier hands. You will adjust, trust me. And you’ll be better off for it. When you first started lifting the gnurling on the bar probably hurt your hands too, did you quit? did you get gloves? or did you man up and just fuckin deal with it? This is no different IMO.

And yeah, as has been said, if it bothers you that much (and it really fucking shouldn’t) why not just sand it down a bit?

The bar I use to deadlift has a towel wrapped around it because I got tired of consistently shredding my hands doing pulling exercises.

Bro I like you, like your posts, like that you’re a young guy trying to learn shit to make yourself better, and I like that you’re looking to make your grip stronger. That’s all cool. But stop being a pussy. Take a look at your screen name and tell me if what you’re saying is truly representative of a “kombat athlete”.

And if you’re worried about your girlfriend seeing your fucked up hands, guess what? It doesn’t matter. My girl hates that my hands are torn all to hell but you know what, I don’t give a shit. I take pictures.

I hope this causes you to re-think what you’re saying and in the long run, helps ya.

It is not because I care what my girlfriend thinks about it or I give a shit when my mom tells me girls don’t like calloused hands like mine. I have dealt with those comments for the past year. However, when the condition of your hands becomes the limiting factor on almost all your physical activities (grip training, wrestling, lifting), it becomes less a matter of image and a matter of function. My hands take enough abuse and are heavily callused already, if I abuse them more than they are it starts to impede performance. Besides, the only exercise I use the towel-wrapped thick-bar for is deadlifts unless I am specifically doing a thick-bar exercise.

I’ve never had a complaint. One of the girls I’m seeing loves that my hands are consistently torn to shit.
If you’re having this problem, your just seeing the wrong girls.

You’re probably right.

ahahah ONE of the girls!

Yeah, some girls complain about my hands but I think most girls like at least a little bit of roughness in a guy’s hands. How many women want to date a guy with hands as soft as them?

I thought the rule of thumb was that you needed to be able to close the CoC #1 12-15 times before moving onto #2. I can close my #1 10 times each hand but still cannot close the #2. I’m close though. You should wait a bit on getting a #2 until you can do more reps with the #1. Also, my hands are not that calloused or tough at all and I don’t mind the knurling on the grippers. You get used to it.

The BBSA, and the HG 200 and 250 are all supposed to be in between a 1 and a 2.

As for knurling, if its really an issue, sandpaper.

ha ha. this wasn’t directed to you, so don’t take me the wrong way. Just a personal opinion observation.

The number of times you can close a gripper doesn’t have much impact on being able to close the next difficulty.

If you want to make on harder, file down the handle so you have to close it further. You can also buy the next difficulty and start working it hard with static holds and things.

The gnurling is supposed to be good and strong to help you grab the bugger, but if it is beating up one part of your hand just tape that part of your hand up (like hook grippers taping their thumbs).

Also, I find that the COC grippers vary quite a bit of one to the next. My buddies #2 was relatively “easy” to close with some practice, when I got mine it took me 4 more months to close it.

Sensless

bullshit, the sooner you can get practice on the next gripper the better. Negatives, and attempts on a tougher gripper as well as overcrushes on a tough (filed, hose clamped, cut, etc.) gripper you can already close are the key to progressing in grippers.

To make the jump, the HG 200 and 250 as well as the BBSA are all in between a 1 and 2.

this is exactly right. Maybe even just some attempts at the #2.Where are you weak? My sweep was strong but my close was weaker. Once I started bending my close became stronger. You might want to consider that.
