Quadruple strength layers

@CT what if the stretch reflex isn’t the issue what would you do (i.e. explosive but lacks strength)?

I’m going to try these quad strength layers out for a bit, would using the same set up as the basic layers work? For me, I am currently doing Monday:SGHP, Tuesday:SDBP, Wednesday:Front Squat, Thursday:SIBP, Friday:SGHP, Saturday:Beach work.

Also, I’m having a hard time understanding the double pause high pull. Do you start with the weight in the hip crease for 2 sec, lower to top of knees for 2 sec, and then explode up for one rep? or something else? Thanks!

That is correct, hold in the power position, lower to the knees and hold 2 seconds then perform the high pull.

I just finished the push press layout, and I have to thank you. That felt amazing.

Looking forward to the rest, especially a Dead-Squat bar quadruple strength layer.

@CT,

Hey, first off the quad-strength approach looks amazing!

you mention that the muscle strength portion is to build up a certain muscle group. do you feel the quad-strength workout as a whole is suitable when hypertrophy is the goal, or is it more suited to strength fanatics?

thanks in advance CT.

It is geared mostly for strength and power but form will follow function.

very well said

very interesting!

thanks CT

Can anyone advise what the below looks like ?

Thanks

Explosive strength: Snatch-grip jump from the hang position with 50% of max high pull 4-5 sets of 3 reps

Wondering the same, is it just a vertical jump while holding a snatch grip (no hip hinge)? Also if jumps are not an option due to overhead restriction, is there another explosive strength move that can be used instead of the snatch grip jump?

Explosive move? No you cannot really substitute jumps when it comes to explosiveness. You can do a speed move… like speed squats with 40-50%, and ideally speed squats with chains.

Thank you for the video and substitution.

Muscle strength - could this be done volume/density style; ie 30 singles 75-80% fast as possible? (fast con/slow ecc)
If so would it still be the 4th layer, or would it be done earlier in the workout?

Yes, that is what I call “strength density” and that could be used as the 4th, muscle strength, layer.

Thanks CT - time to try this out with front squats, wish me luck!
