I wore a silicone ring for a while at the gym and on job sites, but missed the feel of something more solid. I ended up switching back to mens gold wedding bands once I realized I hardly take it off anyway. It holds up fine in daily wear, even lifting. Just had to get it resized once after losing some weight.
