Forget the BCAA’s. Do you really think a few grams of something is going to make a huge difference anyway? BCAA’s cost a bunch.

If you’re a poor college student, then you need to be nailing the basics, and thats food.[/quote]

Actually, BCAAs focused around the workout can make a HUGE difference. And bulk BCAA powder is quite affordable.

Yeh I got a tub of ice. 900g for 45bucks aint bad. I realize Surge isnt that expensive but I lift 3 days on 1 off and repeat. Do the math for how fast I’ll go through it. I may buy some once I start bulking and only use it 3 times a week.

Well the main ingredient in Surge is dextrose, which is extremely cheap and can be bought in bulk. Add a half cup of that and 1.5 scoops of whey and you’ve got a drink with about 70g carbs and 35g protein, viola a 2:1 ratio just like Surge. Sure there may be some big differences but is it worth the price tag, especially for a college student?

Also someone said milk doesn’t spike insulin but milk is actually highly insulinogenic.

cytosports complete whey protein is hydrolysate, isolate, and concentrate, it tastes good too. You can get 10 lb. tubs somewhere, but again, you have to buy all those separate things and mix it yourself, and it might taste like ass, I’m sticking to Surge. It really isn’t expensive. Get a friend (training partner) and get 2 Grow! Whey, 2 Surge, and 2 Metabolic Drive, = about $175 and you’re set for a month (at least).

If you workout only 3 days per week, you’re set for 5 weeks + 1 workout.

Chances are that it’s mostly WPC with only trace amounts of WHI and WPH to be able to claim them on the label.
