Push-Pull-Legs, Volume and Exercises

Hey Coach, I read your above article and decided to set up a split using the 4 day per week option for pure hypertrophy goals, that allowed for intensifiers.

My question is related to volume, my plan was to do 1/2 lighter warm up sets, then one all out set to failure and beyond (D/Yates style) with a drop set on the first week workouts A, and a rest-pause for the following week workouts B, just to keep things interesting. I may even do totally different exercises each round as you recommended.

How many exercises in total per day should one try stay under when using the above intensifiers within this split.

My aim is to slap on some mass, I’ve always been drawn to and seen good results from yates style training, CT’s maximum muscle mass program etc, just getting a bit bored with the general bro split.

Thanks Coach.

Ahhh a fellow Yates brother. Love it.

I’d stick to 2 all out movements where you’re working the muscle at different lengths. So for chest it’d be a press, then a cable crossover or flye. For biceps it might be the barbell curl then an incline dumbbell curls. Pick two and feel free to rotate with other movements each week that stress the muscle at different lengths.
