Pumping Iron Wahler vs. Katz

Xenomorph would describe katz much better…

@Rocky101: Just get your arm-size up, there’s no particular genetic problem with your arms from what I can see in your pics.

#Edit: Cool avatar, bbb.

You’re arms don’t look too bad from your avatar pic. Delts look good,… almost like a child’s head is growing out of one of 'em.

Ectos have a wide chest? wtf?

Where did you get that Mike Katz is stupid? I didn’t see that at all.

I didn’t say he was stupid. What I meant by ‘not the sharpest tool in the box’ was that his manner was so slow and measured, with no real ‘spark’ about him. Plus he really didn’t seem to even consider that someone had ‘stolen’ his shirt just to mess with his head.

Just my opinion though.

I watched the special features where it goes on to explain that many things in that movie were staged to make it more appealing to “normal people.”

For instance, the scene where Whaller talks about stealing Katz’s shirt was actually filmed after the shirt was gone. Also when Arnold talks of not going to his fathers funeral, his dad was still alive during the time. The pump is as good as coming statement Arnold also faked as we all know. If you have the 25th anniversery addition you’ll be able to find these things in the special features.

Waller looked way better then Katz. He also had amazing calves

Katz just looks weird.

btw that scene where they were playing football and waller is talking about Katz was filmed after the contest.

Poor Mike Katz

I felt sorry for the poor bastard for coming 4th in the universe.

As many people have said his phsique wasnt the most pleasing. The scene that disturbed me was when Ken was announced the winner and Mike was going to congratulate him.He was walking toward the stairs that go up to the stage and all u see on Mike is these ugly ass lats with a super tiny waist. It just looked wrong.

His arms were not big enought to match his chest,His thighs were to big for his calves. When he poses he looks like a big spider.

I remember when I first read that most of the film was semi-scripted. I’m sure they took tons of footage, saw what they could turn into story lines, and went from there. ACtually, when I was in college (mid 90’s), Lou Ferrigno came out about the fact that his father and he were never close, and it was the film makers’ idea to do the father/son angle.

Ken Waller probably had one of the best overall phyqiques ever, I’m surprised people forget. Katz was and will always be regarded as a gentleman, but sadly his proportions (not his size though) were always poor.

You guys are way too critical of Katz. What about these pictures? I don’t see the frankenstein look in them.

I remember reading Arnies early autobiography and thinking what a cold SOB he was. Now i find out it was rubbish all along.

I’m going to have to download the extras from the 25th anniversary edition now, especially as i hear they have some stuff on Reg Park.

The reason he doesn’t have the frankenstein look in those pictures:
